We've had Estate of the Art, how about a thread featuring saloon versions of well known hatchbacks?

Seperate model names such as Orion or Jetta do not qualify - saloons badged the same as the hatch only please.

For example:

It's almost indiscernible, but this Astra IS a saloon. Recently featured in Plactical Classics, unless I'm very much mistaken (and shamelessly nicked off Trigger's Flickr account too).

It's a Fiesta Jim, but not as we know it.

1997-daewoo-nexia.jpg

Daewoo avoided upscale nameplates like Belmont - this was just a Nexia saloon.

Moar plz.

Saloon versions don't always work.

Skoda Fabia

Seemingly modelled on the Vauxhall Nova

Let's be grateful that these didn't happen!

A few off the top of my head...

This Nissan Micra-based lump of fail, the Tiida. Driven exclusively by OAPs and fat American tourists:

The Megane-based shite that is the Renault Fluence. Driven exclusively by taxi drivers it would seem.

Speaking of the Megane, you had the Megane 'Classic' which spanned a couple of generations:

The ZX Fukang...

The C-Triomphe... Looks like a C5 that shrunk in the wash.

Ok, so this is technically breaking the rules of having the same name, but it was marketed as the Fiesta sedan in some countries.

And of british plates as well!

What the actual fuck?

Came across the photo on some french forum while I was looking for a photo of the C-Triomphe.

Chinese plod are obviously a laid back bunch of guys...

Here's a side view:

Seems to be a recurring theme. Here's a ZX taxi that's not going to be picking up any fares:

Slightly O/T guys, but I'm getting this warning from my anti-virus when I view page 1 of this thread....

Probably nothing, but just so you know.....

Meanwhile, have we had the Mk1 Passat yet?

Did anyone else get a malmare warning on the first page?

Also, obvious from me but much nicer than the hatch version

It's alright for me but the link suggests it's that Astra Saloon that IainL posted that's upsetting things.

The Dear old Alfasod, really miss these. My Dad had a 1350 1983 1.3 SC, in black with tan interior and blue tinted windows. He loved it so did I when he gave me a lift to school. I learned to drive in it, until it caught fire :-(. It made a lovely rasp from the exhaust. sigh.

The Astra in the first pic belongs to a good mate of mine in Coventry. Tidy little car.

Given that that's a Chinese-built knock-off, I would imagine the damage was caused by a sparrow or similar landing on the roof.
