Was looking for yet more Rover 800 related pics/info (As if I havent got enough already :roll: ) and somehow stubled across these:

Never seen these over here. Whats the story with them? Are they some sort of South Efrican/Aussi cobba' special? It would be just right to see one of these being driven around the local town centre by a long-haired tache' wearing bloke blasting Status Quo from the radio.

WOW they are nice.. that mk1 looks very right too, 440 badge was aussie and they are Queensland plates

I was a member of HMQ's finest serving in Germany in the seventies. I had a string of Taunes' [Tauni?] and they were all pretty good, even the V4 ones [no Pinto engines ones for the model range I was buying, which would have been mid/late sixties stuff] the V6 jobbies were epic, especially the 26m top of the range model. From memory, the "TS", range were the sporty ones

Lovely, but from that angle to me just smacks too much of Capri - and I wonder if thats why they didnt market them in the UK.

I think they were made in Argentina and we were having a bit of trouble with them back when the Cortina Coupe was sold.
