No boot sale this morning as it's pissed down all night and doesn't look much better now.

Still, woke up to find I'd won an unusual thing on eBay, and stepdaughter has just brought me in a Father's Day card and some beers which was unexpected from the stroppy little git 🙂

Cloudy but dry here so off to the boot sale imminently. Not getting my hopes up after last week but you never know.

Not a wasted morning for a change. Clean Caper Cart still here at three quid.

Lovely morning here but no boot sale to haunt.  Instead, I laid another coat of paint on my Dinky Atlas van,  converted from the original minibus. 

Then I fitted the new tube I bought a week or two ago to the front wheel of my ancient Townsend, only to then discover that the back tyre, which had held air so well, was flat.  Puncture repair kit?  Yep, should have a couple... oh.  Ok, over to the lockup.  Digging around revealed two, so I brought them both home, along with some assorted tools.  And the glue in both kits is so old it's evaporated.

Puncture repair thus abandoned until I go out and buy another kit.  So I decided to wash Huggy.  And the Volvo, since it was already in the alley.  And then the Suzuki.  

I'm knackered now.  But at least the Atlas will be ready for detail painting tomorrow.

Poundland usually have 20 and 26" tubes for a quid - I keep a few in stock rather than mess about fixing punctures

Went to BIG CAR BOOT.  It should be renamed small car boot as it was a near-desolate field.

Still charged £2 entry though, despite my protest at the lack of stalls.  At least for my £2 I got some exercise out in the open, whilst struggling to place many of the different languages spoken, along with the opportunity to get trench foot.

Came away with three things:  a roll of £1 tape ; a 50p Matchbox loco ; and other 50p Matchbox loco

Will see if the Matchbox locos return more than the cost of the visit.

The morning's spoils then,and pictured in the greenhouse for no particular reason other than I can get fifteen minutes to myself here. Caper Cart already dibsed by pm before I'd even got back to the car. The Dodge has been a fixture of the same chap's table for the last six weeks or so to my certain knowledge and it was only a matter of time before it came home with me. It's a fair bit rougher unfortunately. As in, I've literally only just noticed the B-post has been stoved in.

This was also a long termer with the chap who had the Dodge, despite my having a good look the plastic boat is long gone. Strange paint reaction down the nearside but it'll go with the XJ6 and Ford transporter well enough for now.

The only thing I hadn't seen before was this. I have an unrequited soft spot for the real things (I came achingly close to having one for £15 just after my 17th birthday) so I'm a little surprised I hadn't already got one. The chap selling it told me it was the last of his childhood toys, which seemed rather sad in a way. Or it might have been twaddle, for all I know, he wanted a fiver and that seemed fair. It's had at least one repaint and is now  in line for another but it won't be this colour scheme.

Those Citroens are everywhere! I've just acquired 9 of them from the market yesterday so some mad Tissier or Chapron conversions are the plan.

As with most Huskys that age, there are two types - Mr. A. Tat has captured the slightly larger and less common one with the metal base.

I reckon the dragster is saveable with a bit of care, at least it has the often missing engine. Shame the BENDER decals have almost all gone, can't imagine you could put that on a toy car nowadays

Indeed, most of mine are the early small plastic base versions but I do have a few of those bigger ones and a couple of the even later yellow Corgi Juniors Whizzwheels type.

This is definitely the original paint. Poor lighting in here but you get the idea.

That's in fine condition, that will restore beautifully. I do hope his story was true as well.
