I love this P6 model. It was my uncle's, and I used to play with it when I was a kid. Now in my possession!

Ive got an identical P6, which also happened to be my uncles! The headlights are called 'Trans-O-Lite'.

So I dug out my Britain's lorry tonight. I've had this since 1986. Apparently they are VERY collectible too so if anyone has one they don't want and it's serviceable, bosh it on eBay!

I recognise that location.....

Aye, folk living on the upper floors get some terrific sea views. But on the other hand they can also see Walton-On-the-Naze.

I had the yellow council tipper version and the cattle truck. Both badged as 'Magirus Deutz' though...

I don't know if this is any use to miniature shiters.

It's a model supplier near Sofia - http://www.diecastfinds.com/index.php/

I know nothing about the model market, maybe all their stock is readily available in the UK. They have a Socialist Cars section, tuning parts, dioramas, etc.

I'm sure I could help with purchase/collection/delivery if anything really tickles.

A few of my faves from a quick skim over the site:

^^^^^  £75-ish.

The ones I posted above are about £8.

1 Euro = 2 Leva.

£1 = 2.5 Leva.

EDIT - They seem to be a trusting bunch . . . .

The models are paid by cash on delivery to your specified office or address

here is a stupid question, but one for the diecast collectorists here.

what is your favourite brand, and why?

my favourite is i guess corgi, mainly as i remember them from when i was a kid.

true i did have (and still do) a number of matchbox one, both old lesney ones from i guess the 1950's and some later 1970-80's ones which i have got from new or inherited/had passed down to me.

dinky though doesn't really feature at all in my collection save a number of matchbox-dinkys from the 1990's which i did buy with paper round money. that could be an age thing though, i am now 41.....

I'd have to say probably Maisto.

Because often outrageous detail for money.

I'd say pre RIKO collapse Bburago, they were dirt cheap for what they were, and I used to really enjoy building them in kit form in both 1/24 and 1/18. I had loads of em over the years

That is lush

My favourite brand is definitely Bburago, especially 1/24 scale. Bought only as birthday presents, you could get them in newsagents, the plastic bits fell off after a week but the shell was FREAKISHLY strong and they modelled Eurpoean cars that you actually saw every day such as, for example, a Fiat 131, Renault 14 or Mercedes 190e. I also love the 1/18 models for the same reason. The early and rarer 1/24 versions are now valuable in good boxed condition and it won't be long before the 1/18 examples follow suit. I mean, almost everybody over 35 had a Bburago model of some sort when they were a kid.

i'm going to guess thats a dinky ford zodiac mark 4?

lovely, the level of detail on that is just amazing!

and i think i still have a bburago F40 up in the loft somewhere.......

there is also a Revell? Austin Healey 3000, and several 1/16th scale Mini's.

this i have had since, well i dunno. sometime when i was little, a christmas present maybe?. so this is why i like mini's i guess.

its a corgi, and while its not worth out, its been mine for a good few years.

and then there are these, again a pattern might just be visible here.

the red ones i know did come from my grand mother at some point, while the others have been autojumble/car boot type purchases over the last 5 years, so i've got them since i bought the metro........

Early Matchbox superfast for me,

just love how smoothly they roll on those skinny wheels.

Most of the cars are very well detailed from that era too.

Also received a few more Sikus from that Germany.

I have a thing for those Corgi 1/36 Minis, lost count of how many I have. Again, as a kid, I had a tatty one which my mum repainted black for me to look like a '30' before she bought me a lovely special edition 30 in pearlescent cherry red in a cracking looking box. I was absolutely over the moon with this and I still have it, boxed thankfully. I also liked the other 4 30th anniversary model minis that Corgi made, Sky, Rose, Flame and Racing so I bought myself all those a few years ago. I'm trying to collect every 1980s and 1990s Corgi mini!

Junkman that Opel Kaptain is superb. I had a superfast one with those skinny tyres and it was indeed rapid on a smooth surface!

Posted

I don't think the Siku Kapitän ever came with "Flitzer" wheels.

Could yours probably have been the Lesney Matchbox Admiral?

Posted

Mine was indeed a Lesney one, but it in fact says Diplomat underneath, just dug it out to check what it was.

My collection is pretty eclectic.  I have Dinky/Corgi/Matchbox that are older than I am (takes some doing!); more of the same that I've had from new throughout my childhood/adolescence/adulthood, yet more that I've acquired in used condition from assorted sources such as boot sales, toy fairs, charity shops.  I also have Hot Wheels that I've been enjoying since I first saw them in the 60s, some even from new that far back.  Then there are Airfix model kits, most of the American makes and some of the Japanese, nearly all in 1/32 or 1/24 scale.  Not to mention Scalextric and other compatible slot cars!

Oh and then we get into the more modern collection: Ixo/Altaya, Road Champs, Vanguards and anything else I think I can justify in 1/43, plus a growing fleet of 1/18 by various makers.  And all sorts of oddments too.

Favourite maker?  Probably Hot Wheels, given my lifelong bias towards American cars.

I do ,like the partwork Ixo jobs I must agree, had a fair few in my collection, especially Ladas, as I have them in most flavours now. I quite like Minichamps, especially when I pick em up cheaply, and says in a hushed tone, my Shucco Vectra estate is quite nice, with it being in rhd Vauxhall flavour. Goes well with my Mondongo mk1 estate by Minichamps

Corgi junior whizzwheels on the blister packs my fave.

The early ones with the collectors cards best.

My collection is way too diverse in order for me to pick a favourite manufacturer.

At the core is an immense plastic kit collection. Not because I'm the big modeller (although I consider myself quite capable in that respect),

but because this was the only sufficient dosage form models of yanks were available when I started collecting in earnest 40 odd years ago.

If I have to pick a favourite yank kit manufacturer, it must be Jo-Han. Not because quality, which is shit, but because of the subjects they made.

When it comes to quality, it's certainly Moebius, however, they haven't really struck my heart yet subject wise.

Apart from that, I collect "weird" plastic kits, i.e. non automotive. Monsters, bicycles, robots, spaceships, etc. Even archishite.

There is hardly anything that hasn't been made as a plastic kit. This includes a 1/20 scale kit of a plastic injection moulding machine and some

1/1 scale Sushi. I also have some big scale stuff and big scale motorcycles.

Over the decades, this was supplemented with a 1/24-25 diecast collection. Again, it's the availability of subjects that motivates it,

so I have deffo no favourite manufacturer in this field. I find the 'mints' a bit disappointing, especially when it comes to value for money,

although meanwhile some downright bargains can be had on the secondary market.

About ten years ago, I ventured into 1/18 scale as a relative latecomer. I managed to procrastinate as long as I could, but if you are a car nut,

you can't avoid this scale forever. My 1/18 collection is considered eccentric on several relevant forums, the term 'bonkers' has been used.

Again, it's the subjects that count for me, not the manufacturer. This scale allows me to indulge in my favourite stuff, mainly yanks and Frenchies.

For French stuff, my fav is undoubtedly Norev, which IMO provides the best value for money of any 1/18 scale manufacturer.

When it comes to yanks, I think that Sun Star currently has the edge. Yatmings are actually quite good, but must be seen as semi finished.

They respond extremely well to careful pimping. So do Maistos. But I do appreciate real high end stuff like AutoArt and GMP/ACME as well.

This sector of my collection is currently the fastest growing one. I received numerous new arrivals the past few weeks, but haven't got

around to photograph them yet, so stay tuned.

So much for models. I also collect toys in smaller scales, predominantly 1960s Dinky, Corgi, Spot-On and Siku. I also have quite a few Hotwheels,

but only the really far out stuff.

And again non automotive, I have hundreds of Comic and Gashapon figures, as well as pretty much all McDonald's Barbies.
