This just in from Bulgaria. Lada 2104 in 1:36 scale. The brand is Autotime but it says underneath the box that it's made by Hongwell. I'm delighted with it, good detail, although there is far too much Western text on it and a lack of Cyrillic.

Not bad for a tenner posted.

They've re-booted the James Bond collection, and it's in WH Smith for £2.99 for issue 1. Here we go again for more dumped Bond models

^ The Bond stuff does appear to be unendingly popular though. Despite my scepticism, we've got through fucktons of it. Quality is good and there are some unusual subjects too. They over production must have run to massive numbers though.

Still a load more / new ones due in a couple of weeks.

Production run must have been in tens of thousands. I've sold some of mine to a mate, and yep there have been some bloody oddball things in the collection, like the Unigate milk float

Funnily enough my 10 year old son has mithered for the LTD taxi.

I have a blue cop car that I brought back from Canada in 1996.

This is the Junkman.

He is happy, because he received a box.

Inside the box, there was a styrofoam cube:

"Like" isn't strong enough for that!  No wonder the Junkman is happy!

That's fantastic. It'll also be great when the pre '68 Hednesford 1:18 meet comes around.

I do wish someone would do a detailed model of the MiniMetro - surely its time for a Vanguards edition?

Posted

Good point actually! W reg in beige with orange interior! I have a 1/24 scale Bburago one but its not exactly detailed!

Neo did 1 release of the Mk1 MG Metro, which had upside down rear lights, but deffo need a mk1 in basic flavour

There's an old Corgi casting of a 1.3 HLS, it's 1:36. Comes in several colours. Obviously not that detailed but OK, then again it's from about 1981. Comes in red, blue, Datapost livery, purple for Charles and Diana's wedding, Royal Mail van, maybe there's more.

Gave my aunt a red one last year as her first car was a red Metro.

Picked this Spot-On up in a local shop during the week.....Needs a gentle refurb (not paint) so have ordered new roofsign, tyres and mirrors from Steve Flowers and BTS Mouldings.

Cant beat an old spot on! I love looking at them at swapmeets but have yet to be able to afford one!

Posted

You can get Spot Ons off Ebay at a fraction of what people ask for them at toy fairs.

That Polistil OLLI is just the dog's bollox. Skimming Ebay now...

That Spot-On Safari was a tenner from a toy dealer (with a real shop)
