Got this through today. For some reason I'd thought it was another 1:43, but it's not, it's 1:64ish

Just need to decide whether to leave it alone or refurb it. Axles are bent and it has paint chips.

What make is it? Axle straightening tools are easy enough to make if you don't want to take it apart

At this one they'd made a half arsed effort at introducing a one way system but today there weren't enough people for it to be worth bothering with. Apparently it was packed last week so perhaps folks just throw caution to the wind. On the plus side I didn't just randomly buy crap for the sake of it and I did enjoy some DRIFTYO in the 740 on the way out. There's always next week..

It's a Norev.

'Minijet' is the clue to the smaller scale with Norev.  They also went smaller for HO with their 'Micro' range

Likewise Polistil 'Penny' series and Guisval 'Campeón'

The other end of the scale (pun intended) for Solido was the larger 'Maxicar' range

I can imagine these being a quick, fun project, and also incredibly light given what the real thing looks like next to normal cars.

It has been,

Although if you're expecting an accurate model you would be disappointed. As mentioned, its appears to be a rehash of Hellers existing 2CV kit, so you are provided with a load of parts you don't actually use, bumpers, trim etc. and a load of mismatched parts (for example, the seats are the quilted type you got in the 2CV Charleston, not the plain flat ones used in the Mehari)

There are no decals for the dash, there are glaring errors in the parts, the rear shockers have no attachment to the suspension and you have to cut parts to either make them fit - as instructed, or just because they are comically oversized. Oh and the instructions are pretty much gibberish.

It's the first Heller kit I've tried, I may give them a swerve from here on.

Brilliant!

I love it,dealer sticker, stuck on taillamps and an L plate.

Thank's!

I even used to make my own wheel trims. By using a hole punch. Then drawing the pattern with a pencil. Before going over it with a Black Biro.

My other hobby for a time, was making paper buildings and banger racing cars.

For the Banger Cars. I used draw one side on A4 paper. Then cut that out and use it as a template for the other side. Then make a front and rear, plus roof. Colour them in my felt tip of choice. Then tape it together and use scrap Corgi, Matchbox cars for the wheels.

Made a few old Rovers, MK2 Granada's. An Jags etc. Then once they got too battered. I'd make more.

Pre-loved tat has also landed. Lady Bug is, I think, a USA only release of the Volks-Dragon

I have a nice, original Organ Grinder, but couldn't resist a tatty but complete one - crying out for a custom makeover

The convertible version of Hot Wheels Volkswagen always looks a bit odd, think it's the large wheels/no windscreen surround. I didn't have one though

Matchbox IROC Camaro is surprisingly hard to find, I wanted to replace my green version. This will be an interesting one to try and restore, as the bonnet riveted to a plastic hinge that also forms the bonnet scoops

Here's another time-killing lockdown job lot I bought and somehow managed to snaffle for an OK price:

49982405396_8f634d936d_b.jpg

It's a bit of a mixed bag and features stuff that doesn't interest me much, such as this duo, seen here enacting a Fast & Furios Shanghai Drift gone wrong. Or something. That said, the Supra is surprisingly (Suprasingly?) well built and the MR2 is debatably a better rendition of one, compared to the Matchbox version I imagine it's based on.

49982660502_9a5642953b_b.jpg

Got one of these already! I'd bought an opened box one in the light blue, window box packaging, as much for the box as to have a mint version of one of my earliest toys from memory. This can be added to my 'one day for sale' pile.

49981882213_0d0417258c_b.jpg

It wouldn't be a randomly selected pile of die casts without a broken Yesteryears, would it?! Granted, it's only the rear seat missing, so this Vauxhall could well be modified into a boat tail dandy's car, or even a 1930's spec farmer's pick-up but I tend to envision rather than do, so I predict nowt whatsoever happening to it.

49982660777_99fb8b182f_b.jpg

It was a relatively commercial-heavy bundle and this no-name Tomica Mitsubishi Canter knock-off was a nice addition, even if it is missing whatever was tacked on the back and has snapped at the cab/chassis. Were I bothered, a flat bed on this or a luton box would go a treat.

49981881753_052360ef39_b.jpg

It also wouldn't be a random bundle without a Lledo in the mix, too! Strangely though, these VWs actually seem to have a following. This one's slightly tatty and missing a front headlamp but I reckon it'd look better with the both removed anyway and the remaining holes smoothed, as the casting is already raised to accept the plastic lamp, which IMO sticks out too much. Even this amount of effort will be shunned by me though, so I'll add it to the sale pile.

49982404971_937763c410_b.jpg

This is quite a nice pair to have a quick handle of but I find that once I've selected a scene and taken the photo, I've had my entertainment and can get rid of bits like this. So in the pile these go, too. I have the Majorette Ford CL9000 truck in my childhood stash but have never seen the Matchbox Ford truck before. Presumably, it was a US only casting and was made mainly to add sporting decals to the sides in numerous ways, so that baseball/NFL/NASCAR fans could buy them in special collectors packs by the bucket load. I find this stuff (except the 1980's Kenworth/stock car/Chevy van issues) as dull as Days Gone and Yesteryears and again, people seem to think they're sitting on a goldmine, when time comes to sell off the dusty, yellowed unopened boxes of them.

49981881488_f2d580e947_b.jpg

I was quite happy to receive this ugly pretty Scammel, though! I even like the painted in headlights and will admit that I went to the outrageous lengths of cutting out a load bed for it from a piece of plastic but my 3 minutes of effort did not garner amazing outcomes, surprisingly. This one can stay.

49982405616_c9ffcdd5cc_b.jpg

As can this! Another tatty Siku truck and trailer combo; I have 3 of them now! It's obviously had a hard paper round but again, someone's painted some details in and not been entirely cack-handed about it, so I'll leave be. It is far enough gone not to be able to ruin any further though, so maybe I should repaint one day. One day.

49981881878_4279f7386c_b.jpg

Here's a motley line-up of tut. I didn't even deign the Caprice police car camera right with its own photo, as it's just not my bag. It can go to the local community book donation library cupboard thing, next time I pass.

Oh and there was one more thing I got in the bundle

49981882158_83568e2ce9_b.jpg

Lesney refreshments trailer! Seen here with my other Lesney rammle of a similar-ish period. I remember playing with one of these round at my gran's house back in the day but I think that one had lost its hatch canopy. I loved the detail in the kitchen area and still do now. I do find the single transfer a bit irksome though, as it makes the back end of this look very naked. Still, I can't complain as again, these don't seem to be pennies and I picked up this and the other in the previous post for just over £7, delivered. I'd have easily wasted that amount on something or other I wasn't able to buy during lockdown, anyway!

That looks like a pair of Zylmex to me. They're not bad things really, no worse than Corgi of the same era.

Any knowledge of these?  I paid them no mind when a child.

Amongst that tat was this.

It stood out, tucked in the corner of a photo, forlorn.  From the poor photos I could see it was near 1/28 scale and had heat damage.  Except I couldn't figure out what/how it melted on opposing corners....
