Does anyone know if you can get a Mk3 Granada in diecast?

Ah, I had one when I was a kid in the late 80s in black, 1/18 scale too. Only the front doors opened, the detail was 'OK' but it had clear flasher lenses and not amber (which in 1988/89 all MK3 Granada's did)

I got it from Spain on holiday, used to love going to Spain because they sold diecasts that you could not get in the UK. I had a MK2 Astra GTE in 1/18 scale too  8)

I had some more receivage lately.

First some prime plastic shite in form of an ex-Otaki now Arii reissue of the1974 Thunderbird:

This was high on my want list for a long time, so I'm really glad that a good friend of mine scored it for me.

In a heavier medium, the 1/24 scale French chod hordery now comprises this Welly Renault 8:

Not the least bit smaller (other than in scale) and easily outweighing the above in the heavy metal department, is this near mint Matchbox Superkings ERF Simon Snorkel:

And last, but not least, this Hot Wheels:

Norfolknweigh, thanks very much 😀

BTW does anyone else think that Welly are really coming on in terms of quality and detail?

I have some older ones which are wonky and crude but the later NEX offerings seem excellent. I have a 1/18 Peugeot 504 that is excellent for the price paid.

The 1/24 Welly 2CV is Franklin Mint quality! Their 1/24 Citroen H van is better detailed than Solido's 1/18 offering.

They also have some very unusual subjects, like the 404 Cabriolet and the Alfa 2600 spider.

And their 1975 Porsche 930 Turbo (Porsche Museum edition) is nothing short of the Ebbro Carrera, which costs four times as much.

Most of the current Welly stuff is excellent. We sell loads of it, largely because of the quality and price point. They also have a massive range, much of which we never get here. I've just ordered a load of Hyundai and Kia models of these which should be popular.

Welly also make a lot of stuff for other manufacturers including a few high end 'premium' brands.

Don't forget that the Granada MK3 was called Scorpio outside the UK, so an Ebay search for that might yield more hits.

Question is, which scale?

Yep, Neo were 1:43 and were Scorpios.

Not really fussed on scale, would prefer larger scale but whatever is available

I'll have a rummage on eBay and see what I can turn up

Thanks all

Yes you are right, it did say Ford Scorpio underneath, no mention of Granada.

It was either 1/18 or 1/24 scale, only 6/10 for detail though IIRC, costing something like 10 pesetas in 1989.

Need to photo the latest Kinder egg models I have. They have done a tie up with BMW and done a set of 4 Binis! I now have 3 out of the 4. A Bini One, Pac Man and a cabrio. Not got the Club foot estate yet though

Kinder BINI's. would say they are about HO scale. I hope I find the Clubfoot to complete the set

Weapons grade die-cast chod there! There were two sizes of those Husky Safaris, one with plastic base and the larger with die-cast chassis. I have the military ambulance version too. Don't often find that Morestone Land Rover in such good nick - the paint on those must have been fore-runner of Ford Silver Fox. Should you ever wish to sell that Alpine my collection is lacking...!

I found this on top of a kitchen cupboard this afternoon. I knew it existed, but I don't remember putting it up there. I reckon it had been there about 13 to 14 years...I spent an hour cleaning the dust off with paint brushes. It still isn't fully clean...

I think it was the last thing I made before I packed it all in...

It's a Renault G-Series. The Heller/Humbrol version in 1.24 scale. It was a nice kit, though the 'club of four' cab wasn't as good as the one on the Italeri fire wagon I did (that is in the loft somewhere although has a canvas tilt body on it)...

The susies were from KFS and I have no idea whether they are correct...

Sign writing brought to you courtesy of letraset (remember that!!) transfers were KFS...

I built a trailer for it from plastruct and balsa wood. I used resin suspension, wheels and landing gear from KFS...

That is a pair of Revell Westfalia T25 campers on the back

post-47-0-46481500-1441040818_thumb.jpg

They are held on with ratchet straps from KFS. They were very fiddly to make...they were from etch...

After building two campers I got bored so did something different with the third...I filled in the windows and made a 'high roof' using plasticard and filler. It wasn't based on a prototype, just a representation of those you used to see about...

I didn't do any ratchet straps for this one as I think the first were quite 'traumatic'...

I just noticed that there aren't any front indicators on the VWs...no idea what happened to them...

We had lots of Bentleys and Mercs to play with but those 2 were to be kept in boxes...

Here's the ones i played with ;
