Yup, that's the one I've got!

Continuing my Italian lockdown theme (from 4 pages ago - there's lots of content on here of late!), here's another Fiat revelling alone at an Italian place of interest.

49650616238_8efd540a56_b.jpg

I'd not seen any recent versions of Bburago 1/43s and came about this one sitting in the $1 (50p) tub at my favoured model shop, after they were having a clear out of a $5 cabinet, to make space for new stock. I certainly wouldn't value it at £2.50 but at 1/5th the price, why not? Especially since it had a blue interior.

So apologies for the modern content but rest assured that I found other items of interest in the 50p tub and took full advantage of their availability.

Hope everyone's staying safe out there!

I had that BP Corgi Zakspeed Capri, guessing it was in one of several boxes of cars I couldn't retrieve from the loft when I split up with my wife

I can see loads in there I wish I still had, the BP Renault 5, Sun Burner, the blue White Heat, white Cosmic Blues... evil woman :(

Probably, or given to her nephew to play with. At least that way someone else got to enjoy them I suppose

In two minds what to do with the Concertina - paint is nice but over white primer looks too light for the Jupiter Red I was trying to replicate. Where I've painted it over black on the base it looks closer. Before I detail it I wonder if it's worth re-doing it black then the red

I would do that, the red on the baseplate looks a lot more like Jupiter.

Great job though, I've never seen those Hot Wheels rims suit a car better! ?

Got any more of those?

Seems to be a missed opportunity as there are just 4 colours and I've never seen one outside of a 5-pack

Nooo leave it, it looks better brighter

Jupiter on a car in daylight might look tidy, but to dreary for a model indoors

Too late it's in the jar of thinner - I want to recreate my dad's Jupiter 2.0S so I'd like it to be as accurate as possible

How long ago was all this? Is it possible they are still there in that loft

We could post a 'wanted old matchbox collector cars' flyer in the door, then if responded to  a 'proxy buyer' such as me pops round and buys the boxfulls

at least you'd know one way or another and not dwell on it, like I have done far too much of in the past.

Of course you're welcome to tell me to mind my own business!

Gahhh....

Well ok now an ideal* opportunity to heat up the rear end and lift it up a tad.  Hadn't realised how saggy they cast the arse on these!  It's like it's had a new one welded home, after a punch up the arse from a Leyland National

I don't dare bend it too much with superglued pillars! Going to do a bit more tidying now I've seen it in paint though

SUNDAY WILLYS PHOTOSHOOT

Majorette Hot Rods 1941 Willys in 1/32 scale

image.thumb.png.04d8d22a50eaa2642b674412f2dde2ad.png

I have two.  So I hope looking at them cheers you up a bit.  Both missing hoods, although I do have one hood, it's just gone walkies only recently and must be in the bottom of a box somewhere as I don't 'just lose' things these days!  Bought to turn in to slot cars ( I spotted the screws in the advert and then mind went into overdrive) but to be fair the '57 Chevy that came with it in a job lot of big Majorettes proved the body castings are really too heavy.  I was going break one for the engine and wheels, take a mould off the body, then sell on in a job lot of body shells to slot nutters.

But if you have interest in at least part-rekindling your '41 Willys friendship, let me know

Standard as was vinyl roof and black trim + rear panel

Spots and black trim yes, not sure about the vinyl roof, both the 2.0S's in The Sweeney didn't have one, probably an option.i098989.jpg.aa4e6423e9e6696cc94a6be58990848a.jpg

Pretty realistic I'd say. It reminds me of that saggy-arsed Cortina estate that caused quite a sensation on here a few years ago.

In my own miniature shite news, here's something I've been working on. My first experience of a 3D printed model, a friend linked me to an OO scale Nova on eBay and I had to have one as my parents ran D168 WNH in the late 1990s. The model was a 3-door so I had to file the wheelarch bulges off but being solid at least meant it was easy to reposition the window pillars and make a 5-door. It's a bit crude close up but not bad considering how tiny it is, and a welcome addition to the collection of 'cars what we have owned'.

MONDAY MORNING COSMIC BANGERS !

image.png.4c29bdb6c4dbb520efde09a61479eb18.png

I had a red Big Banger as a child.  Engine fell out and it got tatty.  No idea where it went, but it's taken me 40+ years to get around to obtaining another!

It arrived in an eBay parcel last Thursday.  To celebrate the event, two of its offspring popped over for a pose :common007:

Have since caught-up and seen some later releases using the same basic body:

Cosmic-Blues-1993.jpg Cosmic-Blues-1996-USA.jpg Cosmic-Blues-1997-USA.jpg

I'm not going to go after them though, not if they couldn't be bothered to give them new model names....

I have some project spares of these, so will just make up my own Code-3 efforts ?

Cosmic Banger coming right up!

Also perhaps Hemi Hernia ?  ....Perhaps not.

As mentioned earlier, I had the white and blue ones as a kid. Still on my wish list with the "white heat" Willys

It has good and bad days depending on when we last remembered to water it. I rescued it after an exhibition as two of them were getting chucked out. Now have a total of five houseplants, all exhibition refuges.

These coaches were amongst a few offerings that Majorette seemed to tout as promotional pieces - the 3 axle Saviem trucks were another popular one. I'm sure I had a white and red coach as a kid but can't remember what company it advertised. I'm not a mega massive fan of these but thought they were worthy of a pick from the aforementioned 50p tub, on their condition alone.

Also, it's nice to see the passengers demonstrating good social distancing practises, though I'm not sure that many people are rushing to head to Italy right now.

So, the ovloV. This was not in a good way:

Unusually for me, I went for a restoration rather than a custom, had to add a bit of detailing though.

Early Matchbox superfast Lotus Europa, originally blue, but subjected to a few repaints over it's life,it has survived in surprisingly good shape really, considering.
