I’m not on facebook so can’t open the link.

The drawing looks great though. I need to dig out my original one!

That looks great, how much will it be though?

I've never owned an original one and the two I've seen for sale were more than I wanted to pay.

The only other other CMC model I want atm is the Mini Magnifique, not seen one for sale though.

Those Ecurie Ecosse transporters do seem to be strangely valuable. No idea why though as I don’t believe they’re particularly rare? Although I’m sure there is a rare version of it with an odd colour interior moulding?

Ill try to find mine and get some pics up…

I’m sure I’ve posted this on here before but here is my Britains Norton

IMG_3243.thumb.jpeg.2b2bc46accddc4e9d3edf6c62fbb293a.jpeg

Happily the hideous front facing is removable (they’ve moulded the unfaired bike’s headlight behind it so it looks more like a cafe racer (or street fighter in modern parlance).

It's a model of the John Player Special Commando. Britains made the fairing a bit bulbous, but it's not a bad effort for the era.

I was watching Captain Scarlet on Talking Pictures TV yesterday and during the ad-break there was an advert for a 1/43rd part work of American cars.

Welcome to American Cars Collection!

It is supposed to cost £12.99 and is said to last for 50 issues. As usual they have got loads of offers of "free" gifts and the like.

If you're into '60s and '70s American cars then it is probably a good collection to get.

Most of the cars are muscle cars, but there are some other in the collection.

PS It looks very much like the American Car Collection issued by DeAgostini in the US

I spotted that yesterday on FB.  You can preview the whole set, so I did.  The only thing I would want enough to pay more than a couple of quid for is the Cadillac Eldorado.  Challenger and El Camino would be nice, but not at that money.  The rest... didn't grab me, but at least it's a start.

I had a look at them all too. To be honest much of it looks like re-releases of the US cars partwork they did before. Some haven’t even been given different colours. As such, I already have the ones I fancied.

The Eldorado pisses me off though. I hate convertibles! Why couldn’t they have done the hard top which looks better!?

But, I suppose, at least it’s something we’re being allowed, unlike most of the other similar partworks.

Yes it is the same set, they’ve rejigged the line order and printing.  It was released in UK around three years back, tested the water with six releases and then cancelled the series.  Last time it was initiated with ‘67 Mustang GT500 and ‘70 Charger

This set starts with ‘63 Corvette Stingray and ‘70 Chevelle and they state 20 releases.  It’s distributed by the firm Nigel Mothersole started after he left Eaglemoss - he was with Eaglemoss for years.  Eaglemoss have handled many previous DeAgostini/Hachette etc part-work collection UK distributions.  I hope it does better.

I’d like that red AMC Javelin if it arrives, if only because I was at one time Better Call Saul fan and wanted Nacho’s car

It’s fair to say I prefer unfaired bikes up until the early 90s.

IMG_6556.thumb.jpeg.6322661720162e2cabd5fd92a4b12486.jpeg

That confirms there are re-colours to collect, as the Mexico list found above has three entries for '72 Javelin.  All of them are have three different release numbers e.g:

14    AMC Javelin (1972)
56    AMC Javelin (1972)
98    AMC Javelin (1972)

Apart from Corvette C4 (six) and Camaro Z28 (five)

However, did they change the accompanying magazine content (apart from release number on cover, photos etc), I doubt they would

This one wears different hood & fendertop striping (brochure called it the 'T-Stripe', AMX-only) with a CH-7204 registration plate as released by De-Agostini Japan as #21

Untiiitled.jpg.c1b01d1445336c6be36a2f7404cf0e43.jpg

but with SST 360 side decal striping like yours (brochure called this the 'C-rally' stripe)

61ZmpX1WqUL._SL1000_.thumb.jpg.7c22c4ea7815345f595437af199accb3.jpg

Can't find anywhere evidence of a #98 release in any other colour / scheme so perhaps it never was and the exhausting scam has been uncovered

WHERE DO I SIGN ??!!!

I’m sure there’s an AMX version in white & blue too but can’t remember which collection it came from.

The Chrysler 300 Hurst is a cracking model too. I’ve got a couple, one to rebuild as a standard 300 and one to leave as it comes.

This comes from the ‘large memorable cars of Mexico’ collection…

Saw that, having spoiler at rear so discounted that, but I suppose they could be plastic addition but doesn't look like it.  Also has correct '73  grille

Another restock at Tesco, quite well picked over, but pulled out a few I've been after,

IMG_20250112_170533.thumb.jpg.7f3eed1ba1f73ae908293a17be3d3ea3.jpg

As usual, I feel like the last one in the UK to pick one of these up, but it is nice.

IMG_20250112_170617.thumb.jpg.92aad745e80744c196eb859387a2e5aa.jpg

Lovely colour combo, and its good to see that despite having a chromed base and bumpers, they havent ruined it with a chrome interior like they usually do,

A favourite casting of mine,

IMG_20250112_170705.thumb.jpg.aa87ae26448174b7cffae108a4827f66.jpg

Always nice to grab a Godzilla Skyline that the scalpers have missed!

IMG_20250112_170849.thumb.jpg.362d4915f511c3aa63c65f13591b0a7d.jpg

Been looking out for one of these in white, along with the previous red release, they both represent the colours that most of the real ones of these could be seen in around here, along with colourful dealer-fit 'graphics', pop-up glass sunroof and motor factor special wheeltrims.

IMG_20250112_170901.thumb.jpg.1508045752ff5e4ec222c91dc179f010.jpg

I like the grille badge detail...

IMG_20250112_170930.thumb.jpg.35da896644166c69c0da9b2d43585698.jpg

But the back end looks terrible, even worse than the red one. They really need some tail light tampos on these.

IMG_20250112_171142.thumb.jpg.e1d2242b37e818a177292e5344406027.jpg

Another one I thought would have been lost to the scalpers, this release looks great in red,

IMG_20250112_171209.thumb.jpg.bbf1416f02ae680f39f61ff430ef605b.jpg

A nice touch on this is what looks like the grille being part of the black interior unit, and the tail lights being part of the smoked glazing unit, which breaks up what would probably be plain painted metal otherwise,

IMG_20250112_171225.thumb.jpg.b579618172e3468ce115e4be0b29cece.jpg

IMG_20250112_170952.thumb.jpg.d39d8ade0beb5ec72cd02e98ea16f4f3.jpg

This was my favourite find though, another new casting. I have to admit to  barely being aware of the Shamal and never seeing a real one, but I love the '90s weirdness of the styling. Kind of like a Biturbo, a Delta Integrale and a Fiat Coupé got jiggy  one night, and this was the result...

IMG_20250112_171105.thumb.jpg.25e5e61e22199fd5e168d91cd87f5b78.jpg

The distinctive details like the little spoiler in front of the wipers, and the functional roll bar are included here, and again, the interior unit is cleverly used to provide the headlights, front grille & intakes, and the tail lights.

I got the AMC Eagle saloon/sedan painted.

Here I am it is playing in the snow with the original estate version.

I decided to sand the roof bars off, because it didn't look right on the saloon.

Well I never, that’s a surprise release.  Also a surprise to choose Shamal over its later ‘sister’ Ghibli as well.  I reckon a Mattel staff member has picked one up, it’s too obscure a choice otherwise

Both were developments on the Biturbo 2-door body, which you recognise in the doors etc

I’ve seen a couple, or perhaps the same example, at Alfa Days / Italian meets but that was years back

The reason for its scarceness is due to just 30 RHD examples built - and just 6 of those were registered in UK new!  A handful of used examples have arrived since.   Far more Ghibli were UK registered

I bought a Hot Wheels Bronco a few weeks ago, mainly as I thought the pig decal would amuse the Mrs. Unfortunately it arrived like this due to the usual plastic bag/ tiny bit of bubble wrap

PXL_20250111_162906541.thumb.jpg.767e6d9b844e7d1056af7c18b2d7f5af.jpg

However, by the magic of buying two of them

Popped into Smiths and saw this by the door.  So quietly pawed over it

The website implied it is a subscription collection and doesn’t mention being found in stores.  But then, I’ve yet to see the TV advert mentioned

Looked at the back, no mention of Trek Logistics, Trek Publications or any production/distribution firm.  Likely intentional…

I wondered what ‘Campaign 89’ and ‘Conquest ‘89’ were about

Went off and found something to do with Anti-Apartheid rallies.  But not sure if related.

Any ideas?

As I’m gradually unpacking stuff after moving, I’m finding things I forgot I had or that have been away for a while so I’ve opened a few up!

Lovely Spanish working vehicles partwork Renault G series bulk tipper.
Front bumpers a bit wonky but easy to fix. Plans are afoot for this one to make it a bit more British looking!

IMG_6526.thumb.jpeg.616e5b04888b513de6c74165560b8fe9.jpeg

Simca 1301 and VW Passat.

IMG_6512.thumb.jpeg.00feaf35b91146a7ee04f32968126025.jpeg

And the Renault 18 estate from the Argentina partwork.
Im not a huge fan of French cars in all honesty, but they made a nice car with the 18 imho. Model is a great looking attempt at it too. Pretty sure this model is of a later 18??

959 stripped of paint. It's a sad fact that the quality of finish on the 80s and 90s Matchbox is noticeably worse than the 60s and 70s castings.

Lines, rough edges and marks from linishing off the worst bits are all too obvious. As it's a resto I'll leave some of it but it'll still need tidying up a bit, as aerosol paint is thinner than the factory finish

I wondered what ‘Campaign 89’ and ‘Conquest ‘89’ were about

Went off and found something to do with Anti-Apartheid rallies.  But not sure if related.

Any ideas?

I remember seeing some of that era matchbox and wondering what was going on at the time they made it. I forget which vehicle it was (possibly a VW ambulance?) and it had a lump of excess metal stuck to the side of it. Weirdly, it looked like a lump of flash from one of the windows that had fallen off then somehow got stuck randomly to the main body, then they painted over it.
Im sure I managed to pick it off with a screwdriver or something so it wasn’t even badly stuck.

All the Chinese made VW ambulances have a big lump of crap in the guttering

The Macau ones are nowhere near as bad, I recon I could tell where one was made without looking at the base

This one from Fujimi, quite a nice effort compared to some of their offerings.

It has separate plated trims for the side windows. I've substituted Dunlop alloy wheels from a Tamiya Lotus Europa, which will need a fiddly bit of detail painting.

Looking to paint it some sort of soft gold/warm silver, to go with a dark brown interior. Just about to trial a couple of options....

Makes you wonder if the tooling got damaged or just started to wear out? That’s a big lump and a very rough edge too.
