Question - how do you all store loose diecast?

Mine are in individual zip-loc bags and in plastic containers in the loft.

Silica gel packs may be helpful to you I suppose

That'll be a very early Corgi Juniors then - the Husky logo was removed and a Corgi sticker used instead. Very nice find.

I have a blank base XJ6

Corgi Juniors (Husky) Jaguar XJ6 4.2

I thought it a bit unusual seeing the familiar Corgi Juniors casting but with Husky cast wheels, also with a luggage rack

Not in the 1966 catalogue, so must have been a later addition to the range; which might explain why I don't recall seeing one

This particular Beetle must be from 1969 when that wheel style was produced.  During 1970 they would be replaced by all-plastic thin Whizzwheels as part of the Junior-ification.  So, it would still have been an exclusive-to-Woolworth model.  Squint and you can smell the Pick'n'Mix aisle.

So I gave it a bit of a scrub

I'm going to call it a 'Husky Junior'

It was £1.

You're thinking of Corgi Classics I think

Those Cameo ones were quite good for what they were, I had the Morris 1000, for some reason because it was in the same box as the ‘Days Gone’ my mum got it in her head it was collectible, so I had to keep it on a shelf not with all the Matchbox ‘dross’ 😂

I had/have a few of the Cameo ones. Mini in red (which istr wasn’t the best?), a couple of Minors (green & purple), Beetle in orange and the 2CV in blue.

I don’t know how many models and colours there actually were in that little series? I like them though, they seem to be quite accurate looking.

No idea, they were a Kellogg's giveaway of yellow Beetle, green Minor, red Mini and blue (?) 2CV, not sure if this was the first release but it's the most common to find. Mini looked awful and well out of scale, the others aren't bad

FINA used to give them away. I had a few with their branding on the roof.

Aye, I had a set from Fina, just after I passed my test and was paying for my own fuel! Strangely, none of mine had a Fina logo, except for on the boxes.

The Beetle was the yellowy orange colour shown above, the Mini was BRG with white roof, the 2CV (the early, corrugated bonnet type) was orange with white roof.  My favourite was the Minor, which was a pale lilac colour, like the Minor Million edition.

That must be where I got mine from then, I’ve got all four of those.

Plus, the lilac Minor, which I think came from a boot sale and a few others I think. I quite like them for some reason so I tend to pick them up if I see them. They seem utterly worthless!

Found a couple of new Hot Wheels cases in Aldi yesterday, but nothing too new in them. Mix with the orange Shogun etc

For the first time in a long while (I think only the second this year...) I wandered about a car boot sale on Sunday.  I went out to Halfords to get an inner tube, and just sort of accidentally walked into one nearby.

The Beetle is a Husky but it doesn't have the manufacturers logo on the base, for some reason.  The Renault 20 is a Solido, never seen one before.  Finally got hold of a blue Matchbox Mercedes 220.  Didn't really need any of the others.

I shouldn't be allowed out on my own

That Renault 20 looks like a Norev Jet Car to me.

I don't think Solido did a Renault 20, but they did the 30 TS in a few colours.

I have a Norev Renault 20, though I think if it’s got quad headlights up front that it’s a Renault 30?

And strangest of all, a Polistil Capri from their "MG" series of cartooned cars. There are some others I'd like to find but I think we only got limited styles over here, so things like the Rolls-Royce are very expensive

Latest release version too, I’ve got the old yellow one. One of my favourite Matchbox’s I think these.
