Fortunately that’s how I always use mine!

Theres a few on that list I haven’t seen, Rolls Silver Cloud & the Morris Minor being two. I’ve got a few now, including a few duplicates for repainting.

Bloody hell! The Minor doesn’t look too bad, but the Rolls… not good!
Some of them, so I’m told, are much much better than others. One of those collections you need to look carefully before buying each model. Some are really good though.

They do look good in signal colours, could you get Signal Amber?

Vanguards 2.3S in Signal Amber, modelled on a real car.

Complete with funky orange Cadiz-striped interior.

They also did a South African spec 3.0 S in what was meant to be the SA shade Grass Green, but according to one of the guys on  the Vanguards FB site who is a bit of a MK4 nut, the real car was resprayed in Signal Green when it was imported into the UK, which Corgi was unaware of, so that is what the model apparently is,

(Yes, I'm sad, I got all the Cortina S variants, including the flying Signal yellow version from Sweeney 2. They are my favourite Mk4s...)

It wasn't until fairly recently I found out that there was both a Signal Amber and Signal Orange. Vanguards did another Cortina (a 2.0 Ghia) in Signal Orange, a notably different shade to the amber.

Incidentally that Jupiter red Ghia YEW 922T was also modelled by Vanguards...

Oof yes, I saw that one advertised on eBay last year. I remember it had funky yellow Capri Carla check seats too. I also have much want for it!

The Vanguards 3.0S was actually modelled on this one, TKR 896R. Note the Capri S style alloys, as on the model. Now lives in Ireland I believe,

The film car was a post May 1984, which was when the SE model trim became Vanden Plas for both 2600 and 3500

Minimerc did 437 BMR in 1:18

Fun Fact:

The reason for the Mk1 front seats being fitted was that these could quicky be put in the recline position by simply pulling a lever. SD1 Mk2 seats recliner mechanism worked by turning a handwheel and would have taken ages.

Remember when 007 popped in to see Rita’s biker gang Dad and the Firenza was on the driveway, an early 1256 SL, one of Q’s cast-offs.

Permanent marker removed Glow in the dark windows!

Also the doors don't open so I guess it's a late casting?

However the star of the show is the P1800.
