Fiver including postage for an AA van? Glass good, a few chips in the paint, wheels are black. Looks like an ideal basis for a little custom project to me....

That's actually too nice for my purposes!  Mind if I give it a coat of thinking-about?  I have a sub-collection of AA vans, but I'd have to check the cabinet (which is upstairs) to make sure I wouldn't be duplicating.  Results tomorrow sometime.

But - the market lights burn all the brighter for it.

In fairly early today, with many of the stalls still slumbering behind their sheets...

But the burning question was - will there be tat, or have I hauled my lazy arse out of bed for nowt again?

Naturally, I'd been out-Nemesis'd again - I knew he was in already, as I can now recognise his car outside - but it's alright. He's a sound lad.

His pockets are enviably deeper than mine, but he's sound. We've all got our life choices, hey?

And what was there to tempt and tickle this morning.

The still-sealed OOC buses were, at least, pretty good value at 3-for-£10 or £4 individually.

Stevensons Dennis Dart was, however, claimed mere moments after I snapped this, by a random passing punter.

Plaxton Beaver in First Calderline livery also of some potential interest, though didn't set my heart on fire.

Russian partwork GAZ ambulance was one I've owned before - only mine came from Poundland back in the good old days when 'Yes! Everything's a pound!' was still their slogan...

A few loose buses up top made up the rest.

The stall was packed, but mostly with china and glassware.

Surprisingly enough*, not much has sold since last we saw it.

Hongwell Minis were still there, and the later Dinky MG Midget hadn't come across my notice last time - but a chunk out of the wing rather spoiled my appetite for it. Corgi Riviera was alright too.

Some big military movers were still in evidence, too - in varying states of disrepair.

I think these Jags twinsies have had rather a bad time of it in a bench vice, going by the flattened headlight recesses and bent-inward baseplates.

Engine detail's still nice, though.

Knackered Dinky Bullnose Morris Oxford is the 'Parsley the Lion' release, maybe?

Not very much left of it now, at any rate.

Corgi Chipperfields Karrier ticket office is a playworn repaint on the wrong tyres, but actually not as rough as I'd thought it was last time.

Some of the, ahem, restorations on offer were definitely of the functional variety, rather than elegant in their execution...

Yeah, that's not going to be getting a UKCA/ CE mark anytime soon...

The Nemesis had made his selection for the morning:

Despite having more than a touch of axle shonk and, y'know, having actual Nazi insignia on it, this was quite nice.

Come for the tat, stay for the lebensraum, hey?

But I just couldn't convince myself that any of the tat from the case was worth dropping a tenner on... so I went for a tootle round the other stalls to see if that would otherwise cure me.

Larry's Independent Traders had not a lot of interest that was new - just the same unsold stuff from last week:

A small bag of toys including some wheeled objects was visible, but they seemed not really our kinda thing...

Further down from the main Tat Stall, Bobby Optimism was still keepin' on the sunny side with his selection of chipped and overpainted £25 Lesneys.

Never worry, I'm sure someone will buy them - there's always a bigger idiot somewhere... 

Alan and his Emporium, meanwhile, were setting up so incrementally it made plate tectonics look a bit hasty and careless.

But all I could see there were more unboxed £8 Days Gone, so I decided not to waste my pixels snapping 'em.

Graaaah... 

Still, a good day for pigeonshite.com's roving market reporter, no doubt.

But then, as I was preparing to slope off, mildly dejected, I asked Market Blokey what money he had on the old knackers in the case today...
