Went to my first Swapmeet in years today and found this Spot On Austin 1800. Unusual for fifteen quid to still have the fragile front panel largely intact. I didn't know these were made in Northern Ireland which is what really sold it to me.

Weren't Spot On a daft scale, like 1/42.5? Close enough to 1/43 though. Would love a few in my collection, such as the Tonibell CA, but they are flippin expensive

Yeah all resolutely 1/42 Scale regardless of subject, meaning that some of the trucks were quite large compared to Dinkys and Corgis. I need to get this side by side with my Dinky 1800 and also compare engine detail. The Dinky is certainly more robust.

Model Car World in Germany had a 50% off sale on over the BHW.

So I whacked in an order.

Got me these to go eventually with my restored parking garage:

Salvat in Spain now also tested a 1/24 series.

A few of these were released in and around Barcelona.

Not only am I proud like a crate full of monkeys that I managed to get one, it could well be the Black Mauritius of 1/24 scale diecasts.

More Communist diecast picked up at a bus rally on Sunday. What these Eastern Bloc diecasts lack in quiality is more than made up in character.

I treated myself to this last week. Unusually for eBay it wasn't Buy It Now at £24.99 so I got it for a tenner.

The dude wrapped it in brown paper with no carton.

Feck knows how it made it to me intact.

I have some of these.   I always understood them to be Hong Kong made as I got a set once with a sheet tin garage that had Made in HK printed on it.   The cars all had the same number plate  - a thing my 5 year old brain found incongruous - that and the fact that it signified a Portsmouth registration!

It's from this sort of tinplate toy:

they were first made in Germany, then in Hong Kong and nowadays have a resurrection

being made in various former East Block countries.

Just got this in the post, Praline Opel Manta. I have never come across any Pralines that weren't 1:87 plastic so this Diecast 1/43 is a new one on me. It also says Busch on a sticky label on the end of the box, again, I thought they only manufactured 1:87 plastic cars. The metal aerial is a nice touch. I am really pleased with this one.

Matchbox Isuzu painted to match the Mrs's old Frontera sport;

I know a more detailed Siku Frontera Sport exists in the same scale, might be worth you looking for one. They're a lovely model, comes in factory red too. Only catch is they're Opel badged.

Matchbix did a non-Sport Frontera too (latte '90s/early 2000s?).
