I'll pass on the Dinky TK at a tenner, simply as I have to draw the line somewhere. Not to say it's pricey, but it's priced enough to make me think twice!

A bit of chipping down if you happened to do a bulk buy, then I'd very likely say yes, though...

Budgie truck is WE Series Morris

Not got one of those and it does have a charm about it…

Delving further into the box revealed repaints of more racing nature:

1296701850_IMG_20230630_0754202.thumb.jpg.6426142d55c9c197536ef532c7ea2fef.jpg

Dinky Riley RM and Jaguar XK120 coop.

Prepped for the Mille Miglia - or the banger track?

Corgi Aston DB4 a bit more restrained, and with the aluminium hubs blacked in:

Rally Zephyr Farnham, anyone?

Red paint as well as blue on the glazing unit suggests that this has worn a few different colours over the years,

Looks to be an ex-police version, going by the remains of the roof light and the wing-mount aerial.

108985265_IMG_20230630_0755562.thumb.jpg.311f22959708ae66edad7dec5e3a64f5.jpg

But this - this - is surely verging on folk art:

2103932634_IMG_20230630_0755052.thumb.jpg.b4114a29b4803bf40bf8b54ab6b7bba2.jpg

Early single-piece shell Corgi Chevrolet Impala, wearing a unique paint job.

Hot Rod!

And - hang on, does that say 'The Gay Devil' on the side?

2049988225_IMG_20230630_0755112.thumb.jpg.a8f1d536f7eb3d6db93f5fd6a7d2e5e3.jpg

Yes. Yes it does. On both sides.

Well, okay.

Different era, I guess...

1998169952_IMG_20230630_0755162.thumb.jpg.3440470a3d5c7f5fe8f04234cc3b7c34.jpg

Also, 'Hells Ange' (presumably no room for the 'L' - unless that's a reference to the driver?)

1303706515_IMG_20230630_0755252.thumb.jpg.5d58f0677a72836b8b06173b9cea33f0.jpg

'Greasers' also in the mix there, and something else on the trunklid I can't quite decipher. 'Sand Rigger' or something?

Honestly, this is almost worth a tenner. I can just imagine some local kid sitting with the finest brush they can find and all their little pots of enamel paint one evening, trying to replicate something seen in a magazine or a comic or on a tiny black and white screen.

Some representation of American cool, deviancy, delinquency even.

Something a bit Jimmy Dean, a bit Marlon Brando, a bit Peter Fonda.

A bit... Gay Devil.

Yeah.

There's just something about this, it's so great.

He does really want a tenner for the ESTASHONK does he?

This Britains Bedford S (?) dropside lorry was also new to me:

1490814837_IMG_20230630_0758432.thumb.jpg.66b4e0b30a44468808758dc7e785442b.jpg

Quite small scale. And surprising detail showing the AWD transfer case and props.

1531400034_IMG_20230630_0758492.thumb.jpg.7d4428f4a9b48efd0b66631d9af1239a.jpg

Axles were very on the wonk, mind.

Some more smol things were also in evidence - early Lesneys, unknown tinplate trams or something, and - is that a Charbens 'Old Crock' in blue?

505991582_IMG_20230630_0758312.thumb.jpg.366ed71676e1723f6a69df7708e93798.jpg

No maker's name on it, anyway.

More Dinky Devons:

And then a racing Devon, minus an A-post - the scrutineers won't like that - plus an A90 Atlantic that looks like it may have been in the Atlantic:

1119749418_IMG_20230630_0757012.thumb.jpg.6daec9c6acf1caba38a31c76167d2175.jpg

Jolly repaints of a Dinky Ford Woody and Packard were also in evidence:

1921332859_IMG_20230630_0757272.thumb.jpg.7bf3db0663f33bd5f7eba746161db345.jpg

Civvie-spec Riley to go with the rally custom job, too.

Someone's had quare fun doing these, for sure.

A tenner is the new fiver, and not just on matters of tat.

He does.

Fiver, absolutely. But I'm not seeing a tenner's worth, disappointingly.

Next week could be a different story, mind...

Boxed Matchbox Model A and Caravan might be worth a tenner each to someone if they're minty. Think I'll give it a swerve though.

For some reason that Budgie tow truck is calling me but there are similar or better ones on eBay for the same money

Seemingly so!

Though he had much better stuff out at a fiver only two weeks ago, so - I think it just depends what he's paid for them. This might have been a rather dearer job lot from the auction than he'd hoped, just to get some new stock in... Or maybe he didn't twig from the auction pic that they were mostly kiddy repaints, and went in a bit high with his bid.

Either way, the die has been cast... and found wanting.

Ah, funny you should mention those...

33129465_IMG_20230630_0745292.thumb.jpg.c5f936578dc336d15015389b4c4a5f3e.jpg

Yes, these excited me a bit when I clocked a load of Matchbox-branded packaging - all jumbled up in a heap.

But setting them out neatly revealed... they were mostly duplicates.

And sadly, they're not mint.

1370944616_IMG_20230630_0746352.thumb.jpg.24290496c2df4495f35d956f60013b77.jpg

964564974_IMG_20230630_0809312.thumb.jpg.7dbc1fafa33f4f25c3d1815c492165ff.jpg

Dunno how they've retained their boxes while also being quite heavily played with.

449987394_IMG_20230630_0810252.thumb.jpg.e28893855b4d9c9e1fbb13799d50c4a5.jpg

First release packaging marked as 'new', as well as later boxes without the lettering, both available for the Model A.

Didn't check the condition of all the Model As, though, as it's not really a model I've a great deal of interest in.

Though, at a fiver each, they're slightly better value maybe?

Those old Model A are as desirable as an old shoe. I think you’d struggle getting any more than a couple of quid tbh.

Other newer stuff was mainly the same as last week:

1454535717_IMG_20230630_0746012.thumb.jpg.efd3cf2ba7832ab84a100432b3a8d417.jpg

Mainly 1990s Corgi Classics.

Pushing it, at a tenner - but then, most of these I have/ had, so there's limited desire here for me.

Irritating that the Transit Wrecker's missing its box inner, though.

1023807901_IMG_20230630_0810512.thumb.jpg.90b2a0f1dccb239ede028fb756bbd3f3.jpg

Very late Classics release Ford Pop, with additional detailing to wheels and lights:

1724506265_IMG_20230630_0801212.thumb.jpg.a069ffd1015673cff7c2c40484d6db7f.jpg

Don't remember a  Riley Elf/ Wolseley Hornet in the Corgi range, mind.

1768428928_IMG_20230630_0801362.thumb.jpg.74de7af55a8a3f15ca262f14371d95ac.jpg

I know Vitesse modelled them in 1/43, which later morphed into mail-order only Matchbox Dinky releases - but a Corgi version draws a blank from the ol' diecast memory bank.

Also, an example of the excoriated Mini Cooper from last week's discussion:

1813291500_IMG_20230630_0746062.thumb.jpg.85ca64240973ae64771dffe1ce49aa64.jpg

I was kinda tempted, after ragging on them so hard, but no... not at this money.

More similar stuff was found in a box under the stall, too:

1969960955_IMG_20230630_0749492.thumb.jpg.1bf7b27f20244c173225ddfb29251b5f.jpg

And yet more Lledo stuff and the like:

2029839527_IMG_20230630_0749272.thumb.jpg.c07ce33a6b7a7b130a41691ce05c6a9c.jpg

But that was kinda it... for a fiver, I may have happily filled my boots with many of these but... I think they're just a bit spendy at £10 a throw.

The Britains Bedford S-Type is a scarce one.  Well In don’t recall ever seeing one one, at the smaller scale I might have assumed a Budgie

Looks pretty good too, aside from wanky axles

1:55 maybe?

I'd really like the Euro 96 one (as per earlier in the week), but it was on the £3 table last week?

I'd say even smaller than that, say about 1/65 scale?

Hard to get a sense of scale from the pics, but I don't think it was more than 3" long. Smaller than the Budgie Leylands, for sure.

I was disappointed (and a little surprised) not to see the Euro '96 Bedford O van on the table with the others - but then I twigged it was still in a box of overstock behind the stall along with some of the others.

So I picked that up for you, and yup - £3 paid!

Aha, that's the very one!

Dunno what's happened to the wheels, though.

Not really my bag, but an unusual one all the same.

Nope, it's a fairly mediocre Merc 350 sadly... possibly alright for a fiver, but I wouldn't have fancied going much higher. Quite a bit of chipping to it.

Seems that there was a fair bit of variation over the years in the green shading - CMC had this to say a few weeks ago...

image.png.0dfa767f2f759db30ed58086dd80fa82.png

So they're admitting it may not be the same shade as many originals; instead they're reimagining it as Corgi might have produced it.

I kinda like the colour, I have to say - and it'll contrast against my purple & pink original.

Sounds like waffle to me.

I have only ever seen the green ones in that pale olive shade. It was never  done in the Mini Magnifique green, which the reproduction version is very close to.
