Just found the original listing of when I purchased it in 2018. I wanted the Mini Van

Spot-On Minis are very sort after. After you add the buyers premium the new owner would have paid around £650 for their new toy.

It's possible that four more packs were supposed to be due for release in the second half of last year, but didn't show up - the Matchbox Wiki shows eight sets in the revamped 2021 range.

Hitch & Haul (2022) | Matchbox Cars Wiki | Fandom

There are gaps left for other releases on the '22 release page, but they're still empty except for a reference to the 'Crocodile Country' set - which has no pics, but is listed as including a generic 'Swamp Raider' 4x4 and a raft boat on a trailer.

However, there are no cross-references to this particular set on the individual model pages - so it may not have ever existed/ seen release.

Finally I've managed to re create the Scammell Tri Deck GS20

I've fitted jewelled headlights to the P1800 and tickled in the white slightly so it looks ok.

Converting the Lancia to Whizzweels was more of a faff than I expected with lots of filing and packing out, but I'm pleased with how it turned out.

Obviously the Firebird really needs the later Teledial wheels

I got some of the wheel chocks from Steve Flowers, I thing they originally had four on each higher deck, I only got two for each deck and glad I did. Even the Capri can't be pushed over the chocks without scraping the roof, I can see why so many have been removed and lost. I'm going to take them off again on mine!

So a yellow Marcos Volvo is true!

I saw one at weekend in Exeter antique shop for under a tenner, quickly looked it up (eBay & Google Images) but no other yellow ones were shown, so I assumed, what with the 'space' decal, that it was a home-restored one.  And left it.  Gah!

Yup, the April release from Corgi Model Club - arrived a week or two ago but I was pipped to the post when it came to gloating over it on this fair thread.

1857583172_IMG_20230424_1602382.thumb.jpg.ada6694a4ebd26807ce6569a49ea04d7.jpg

I came very close to asking them to skip this one, as generally speaking I'm not all that into sports special stuff - but I'm kinda glad I didn't now. It's actually very nice.

1330376639_IMG_20230424_1603072.thumb.jpg.cffc0367ee97d0a6502da522c5c704d6.jpg

Shrunken lil driver dude is pretty hilarious, mind.

I mean, this is a model of what was already a very low car - only 60" high or thereabouts - so this guy's basically doll-sized.

2087690354_IMG_20230424_1601372.thumb.jpg.a05e9ca82263858d140c004f96e5c47b.jpg

Detailing is good, as you'd expect, and the opening bits are snug enough when closed. Having a cast-in window frame on the door is unexpected - not many Corgis have that, I don't think - but it looks ok, not too heavy.

1324174598_IMG_20230424_1605432.thumb.jpg.d1dec779052b4267c3a5e538b08e50eb.jpg

Inside of door insert is also unexpected, but appreciated for the extra detail.

1126242545_IMG_20230424_1605022.thumb.jpg.98f97934c9061129a3cf48a430646d88.jpg

Did the original have some extra stuff on the base, I wonder? Like a manufacturer badge? Seems a bit smooth in places. I've no recollection of seeing an original close-up, so I don't know. I do know the CMC Porsche Carrera lacked the Porsche badge on the base which the original Corgi release had, and the DS lacked any Citroen badging altogether, so there could be some sort of licensing issue at play here as well.

I'm still not sure why Corgi made so much effort to let their young customers know that the Marcos was fitted with a Volvo engine - other than the De Tomaso Mangusta (sold as the 'Ghia Mangusta with De Tomaso chassis', if I recall correctly), I can't think of other models in the range where the engine took equal billing on the box. Maybe Volvo insisted on it?

Overall though: nice 👍

It was £55 on the Merc... and it was quickly snaffled by a rather taciturn fellow I've seen around before.

For £20, I would have had it myself!

£110 asked on the Routemaster.

Majorette did loads of 1/24 scale for their domestic market, I had a few at one point, E-type, Cobra, Cherokee. None as far as I know were ever retailed in the U.K., the quality was a bit indifferent as well.
