If those stupid buyers don't make you fighting mad, them fucking highly professional courier companies smash it up.

Or both.

Three fails out of three.

Fucking perfect.

I have removed all my remaining active listings now.

I'm after a model of the current gen Mustang in yellow, ideally 1:43, or of not the asbo orange focus. Is there anything out there?

Flaming 'eck, your loft looked pretty sorted already.

Every autumn Mrs Rocker scours the local purveyors of tat, charity shops and car boot stalls in a tireless quest for diecast to keep me happy on Christmas day.   This 12 year tradition has yielded some treats and this year was particularly good.....

God knows where she found the Lion Cars DAF truck and 600 bodyshell but they look good together.....The lorry would originally have been mounted with a crane but I like it the way it is now!

Love the Beetle with Rhino.I found one a good one a while back,no Rhino though  :-(

Great present :-) I've got that yellow Guy Warrior somewhere in blue. The Dinky mk1 Tina looks a bit special.

I think the Rhino may be after-market but certainly completes the toy.   I tried a battery in the Cadillac and with some tinfoil bodgery I got the light to flash erratically (the holder is designed for the old paper-wrapped rather than metal cells.    Very pleased with the Cortina, its quite hard to find in good nick and tends to shed doors and seat backs quite easily.

Skizzer your Guy is probably the scarcer Corgi Juniors update, quite hard to find!

Going to spend a pleasant hour re-organising the display cabinet now.......

I think the Beetle did come with a rhino originally; whether that rhino is the correct one or not I can't tell.  Does it matter much?  They make a neat display anyway.  Good choice of wife there, well done.

Is that a mk1 two tone zephyr? Wanna sell it?

It is and I don't I am afraid.....been after a nice one in this colour for a long time.    There is an Atlas re-issue doing the rounds if that helps, fair bit cheaper than the Dinky originals.

I got me more of the new Hachette Auto Vintage 1/24 partworks.

It does make you think that Pininfarina sold exactly the same designs to BMC and Pugrat. Got 3 diecasts for Chrimbo from the MIL, an old Oxford Diecast Morris bullnose van, and 2 old Corgi era Days gone, a Morris LD and an old Dennis lorry

This was discussed quite recently elsewhere on this forum.

In the mid Fifties, Pinin Farina tried to sell the design to BMW for a Baroque Angel replacement, which looked decidedly obsolete even back then.

To illustrate how obsolete, there are merely six years between these two cars:

BMW rejected it, because they weren't planning a replacement for the big saloons at all. All their cards were on the Neue Klasse.

However, Lancia took it on and used it for their 1956 "Florida" concept car:

Note how the design even retains the portal door config of the original proposal for BMW.

Lancia developed the car and launched it in 1958 as the Flaminia, sans rear suicide doors and with a b-pillar.

Farina then sold the design on to various other car makers.

He, like numerous other Italian designers and coachbuilders, had a proven track record to sell the same design to various clients.

He flogged it to Fiat as well....

Here we have a different method of design sharing*:

Dante Giacosa at Fiat merely nicked it. Farina never saw a Lira for it.

A few additions from Christmas. ☺

Im a fan of the Vanguards Mk4 Cortina, a nice casting. I've been after a 'sporty' S model for a while but the silver and yellow ones are a bit pricey now (because Sweeney). I do like the recent green 3.0S, and seeing it in the metal, it's a nice model. I've seen photos of the real car it's based on and it's pretty close, including the wheels.

I also like the Vanguards Chrysler/Talbot Sunbeam casting. Being weird, I prefer the Ti to the Lotus as a mate had a rough Ti back in the 90's snorting through twin 40s. Only one road spec Ti has been modelled and is quite hard to get now. I love this one, with the Ti specific alloys, rear spoiler and stripes. The door mirrors are like I remember the early Sunbeams having as well.

I was missing the purple Cortina from my Vanguards Boy Racer collection. The one I had lost its wheels after they disintegrated. I started to look for a playworn model to take some wheels off but found this mint boxed Cortina on a Facebook diecast site so grabbed it for under a tenner. Will have to do something with the other one now. So, looking for some wheels again now...

I've shown off the Oxford Diecast Firenza before on here, but now I actually have it! About to join my not shit Vauxhall collection in the display cabinet. Moar stuff like this pls Oxford...

Lastly, I have developed a bit of a hot wheels habit over the past year. Started buying them for the two little 'uns, then saw one or two that I liked and I think I have 100-odd of my own now. There's a big fuss at the moment over the Gold Gas Monkey Corvette. (Check out the prices some are fetching on ebay). Luckily a pair came up on a Facebook site for sensible coin so they're getting stashed. Or one might end up getting opened as jnr_201 seems to have taken a shine to them...
