So - what was scooped from the priority green lane?

These.

Old-ish passenger vehicles - the MK2 Zodiac has a fair bit of paint loss and a broken towbar, but happy to set it aside for @flat4alfa

**TAKEN!!**

Corsair isn't in bad nick either - allowing for a chewed-off towbar - and I'd like to give @andrew e first dibs on this one, following a shameful episode two years ago where I managed to lose his tat box by posting it to the wrong address, leading to the total loss of all contents - including a similarly pre-loved Lesney Corsair.

So if you're still interested, dude - this one's available.

**AGREED!!**

1739846584_IMG_20230217_0841032.thumb.jpg.395a68a4b12f7f519345a84ea4d9b634.jpg

Hillman Minx is in reasonable fettle with some paint loss but no casting damage, and is also available at £3.

**SOLD!!**

Minix Austin A60 Cambridge has a small chunk of sill knocked off on the nearside, but is otherwise good.

I had a small Minix collection a while back, now passed on, but never had the Cambridge - hence going a bit grabby-hands.

Available at £3.

**ALSO SOLD!!**

This Rockets Capri is evidently the one that hit The Nemesis in the feels.

620300312_IMG_20230217_0841082.thumb.jpg.17e96237f9dae5dc48555de699e5b1f4.jpg

The paint's rather pockmarked and the rally stickers long gone, but it seems complete and original otherwise.

1977791840_IMG_20230217_0841192.thumb.jpg.5d5f7f0e186341a8a2cc2eddd2605290.jpg

Could do with a jolly good clean, mind.

It's not a white 007 version, so not apparently worth eleventy squillion quid, which is why I'm content to pass it on for the £3 paid to whoever fancies it.

**SOLD!!**

It's lucky I'm not a betting man...

Of course it doesn't.

One of Steve Flowers' bestsellers, I'd say.

Proper Husky version too...

(Though I must stress it did cost £3, not 15p. Inflation, hey?)

This fat-wheels Superfast Dodge breakdown must be a pretty late one.

2085435623_IMG_20230217_0841572.thumb.jpg.2f64f4d8c55b36c403d00b0cab4e0f2a.jpg

I've a decent regular wheels example already, so this is kinda surplus - it just looked quite nice.

Hook is intact, though some minor wobble in the front axle.

Available at £3.

**SOLD!!**

The Ford I've previously owned and then sold - now regretted, hence this is one for the more permanent part of the Cog Collection.

640719653_IMG_20230217_1327212.thumb.jpg.20dc62c344860777b80eab18d17d527f.jpg

The base is remarkably shiny still.

The Jeep is one I had a very ropey example of in the past - sadly it's not the super-rare version with the green interior.

1960313685_IMG_20230217_1327502.thumb.jpg.0eca5bf238ae6b1b4f05ca40f5d3330f.jpg

The opening doors feel really quite fragile - so I can see why they usually turn up missing one or both.

184956858_IMG_20230217_1328212.thumb.jpg.66a2c9218cd7e66555387aa36935f6ac.jpg

This one's fairly good, all things considered - and available at £3.

EDIT - **SOLD!!**

1111649658_IMG_20230217_0842112.thumb.jpg.cc50f0763eef1afd69eb4885248458f2.jpg

Lastly, the Major Pack GMC Fruehauf hopper wagon - no second trailer and slightly bent axles, but for £3 it'll fill a gap in the collection. A keeper, for now.

So - with requests made, I'll head back over now...

EDIT: Updated to reflect agreed sales!

Rockets Capri is very cool but I was too busy putting all the Corgis away!

However - you bunch of enablers reminded me a few weeks ago about the Majorette hot rods, of which I had the yellow Willys (don't worry, the doctor said it will clear up on its own).

Couldn't find one of them but this popped up on eBay instead

All my DanBoxes©️ seem to arrive on a Friday which is a splendid way to start the weekend.

I'm really pleased with this lot. I have the Police MK1 Escort but the civvy version is the one I've been after. The Range Rover is superb,  all complete and just a bit of paint wear which is how I like them. The only other Corgi LR I have is a very early green 109 with a tinplate base. There appear to be some differences in the castings too which I'm sure have been covered before. This one is lovely, I'm sure I can get a hook and string from somewhere.

I thought the Mercedes was Matchbox at first but its a Corgi which is what attracted me to it. I think this is part of a range of new castings which were released around 1989 and are quite uncommon. I never managed to find any when I was a kid so they can't have been made for long. From memory there was this, a Ferrari 348TB (or was that just in 1/43 scale?) and a BMW 850.

Happy weekend diecast shiters!

Well, just after 12 I skedaddled back over to the forum of diecast dreams clutching a scrap of paper in my hot little hand.

2103906291_IMG_20230217_1413222.thumb.jpg.986fc67ecea8614c9fd9a0e0acdb7fe5.jpg

The task was large. The stakes high.

The market was also rammed. Like, unbelievably busy.

Of course. It's bloody half-term. Kiddiwinks all over the place.

The stall was swarming with fairweather tat-hokers; the kind who don't turn up at 8am on a sleety January morn.

Amateurs.

Eventually, I squeezed myself between several giffers and managed to get my hand in a tat box or two.

My priority was to grab as many from the list as I could manage, so I wasn't able to take pics beforehand. But availability was largely good, and before long my cup runneth over...

1839618770_IMG_20230217_1232062.thumb.jpg.161c7f7223e9f9c9e811e0fdc4300042.jpg

And, once the frenzy had died down, and many ticks ticked...

100464487_IMG_20230217_1433172.thumb.jpg.20ae47a49e2cc3dac37151158b1f45cc.jpg

I had another look round the stall.

1373624331_IMG_20230217_1232212.thumb.jpg.6b3636fdf5e8beb96a92037943592cd0.jpg

Most of the Saico Minors had gone, bar the Traveller, and there seemed to be fewer MoYs than earlier...

And then my eyes went out on stalks.

On the flatbed back of the mahoosive wooden lorry were...

1312081802_IMG_20230217_1225152.thumb.jpg.466dd958aed6c145ab84f7b56073d66a.jpg

Yup, Spot-Ons.

A load of Spot-Ons.

Not in tremendous condition, it's true - but still.

There they were.

1759250945_IMG_20230217_1226392.thumb.jpg.dac5ba6fc732da26bc9594c9eea9f229.jpg

Big Bentley was BIG.

It's hard to overstate just how much presence these models have, and how much more substantial they feel than their Corgi and Dinky counterparts.

143358200_IMG_20230217_1226482.thumb.jpg.d7f01bfac7a8d6f800bbf3b640a24c01.jpg

Zephyr Six was looking a bit worse for wear, with an A-post coming adrift and bumper damage, but still a cracking big thing with the opening doors too.

2106446618_IMG_20230217_1225462.thumb.jpg.5267e07bc8d621d2590385cfdc96a34a.jpg

Cresta was lovely; possibly the best of the bunch, condition-wise.

1747401019_IMG_20230217_1225212.thumb.jpg.a6f890f4f455dd5f9001f7961168bdfd.jpg

The plastic bumpers and grille look like they've been touched up a little, but the whole effect is still very pleasing.

2046047514_IMG_20230217_1225262.thumb.jpg.de29c1e78567d596f30efe6d919ddce1.jpg

Flexomatic suspension was very soft - and I can't discount the possibility that this has been taken apart at some point in the past, as the base seems a little loose and I can't quite decide if the posts have been drilled and re-peened.

426927338_IMG_20230217_1225362.thumb.jpg.b3139663ef22587f98d91563808f1b12.jpg

Mini van has definitely had a bit of work done, though not necessarily to the very best standard...

Land Rover S2 109 pickup is nice without being too playworn - though I find it difficult to get very excited about this casting as I already have broadly similar Corgi and Dinky models.

553838413_IMG_20230217_1226012.thumb.jpg.b1d2b9dfbf0127899cd6e2f982846f3b.jpg

Less detailed baseplate leads me to think this is one of the last, from 1966-67 (but I'll check my book when I get home).

467183221_IMG_20230217_1226132.thumb.jpg.b0849df3d294a408dfb932be47636b01.jpg

This Jaguar XK'E' (interesting that Triang used the US naming) it's also a bit down-at-heel, though a new tyre would help a lot.

1123552110_IMG_20230217_1226192.thumb.jpg.b18e410322ea86e5215cf0cf796b33a3.jpg

Opening bonnet, though the engine detail is surprisingly crude - not a patch on the Corgi version of the E-type coupe.

I forgot to snap a pic of that, though.

Finally, the big Blower Bentley is substantially rendered in plastic rather than metal, but still pretty detailed for all that - only the spare wheel seems to have gone AWOL; the outboard handbrake, separate exhaust and windshield seem to have survived just fine.

Ambulances, CA vans in varying states of decrepitude, the Thames wrecker, the Merryweather with ladder, the Commer milk wagon, Husky VW pickup, (another) J2, and the little Hongwell Mini estate.

The small ERF cement mixer had gone, unfortunately, and despite an extensive search I couldn't see a Ford 100E anywhere.

Adding to the other lot (but minus the spare Minx) gives us a total haul of this lot:

Good news for @FakeConcern too, as the Fiat and Mini pickup were still kicking around:

But bumper corners and base are all perfect.

I'll leave you two to fight it out over the Capri - a quick squizz online indicates that a fiver can net one as good or better, so it seems there's plenty for everyone.

Lastly... well, despite triggering an avalanche of lively texts from my banking app, I couldn't quite resist this:

I owned one of these before; a truly trashed jumble sale refugee picked up around 1992 for 20p, with missing everything and virtually none of its grey paint remaining.

Thank you. I'm in no rush to find a Mustang, and I only need the glass anyway. I've been sorting through many boxes of potential projects and spares left over from job lot purchases - so the plan is to start my own force hail thread at 6PM. It may be done in fits and starts around life but I'll do my best to update it regularly

despite an extensive search I couldn't see a Ford 100E anywhere.

Apologies, it was a mis-identification of the Minx !

I can help with supply of Mustang steerables as I have some spares

*wills Herpa Setra to be at St George tomorrow*

Yeah.... it's been a fortnight and I'm still thinking about it. I'm not right.

Sad to say, there were no buses at the market today (other than a loose Corgi Classics AEC RT, I think)... I know, I'm still kicking myself over that one too!

That Cresta was an excellent purchase. Lovely.

The zephyr, all the parts are obtainable from Steve Flowers, for probably about £10 you could have that looking new.

I'd love to have taken both, but I couldn't see a way to stretch to both of them this afternoon. The Cresta looks more like it can be enjoyed as-is, and after carting a wrecked one about for twenty years I'd love to have a good 'un for a little while.

I've just totted up how much I've spent today and damn near fainted.

Oops.

Bit cheeky I know, but there seems no other way to obtain without succumbing to scalpage 😐

Ford Customs, you say?  I've never even seen one in the flesh!  Could you pick one up for me next time you're over that way?  Pretty please?

OOh, pink 1960 El Camino?  I didn't even know MB were doing that!  Yes please @Datsuncog, if you should see one.

Yep, I'll be heading past on my way home - and will have a look to see what's there!

There were at least three or four black Customs in the dump bin, and at least one black Mercedes estate - possibly a Dodge Flareside still remaining, I can't quite be sure.

I don't believe there were any Kurtis roadsters, pink El Caminos or Bedford CA catering vans - haven't noticed any of those on offer in my local store, at any time, but will have a good old hoke later!
