yes, that thing sat more than it was driven - until they moved to Cookly...had a few radiators from rotting out while sitting, but was serviced on the dot..He only ever drove Volvo cars, but would never buy a Truck from them..

He sadly died a few years back, and his eldest son too about a year later

It has a stuck on Ford badge on the front... that's about it I think.

Any chance you could pick one up for me next time you find one please?

1976 Ford F-250 in 1:64 scale by Greenlight. Good roller and the bull bar on the front is well executed for a separately fitted part. Shame about the paint defect on the roof. New Year, same Greenlight.

Shorter wheelbase and a smaller day cab than the Payne's one, sadly.

Expand

Nice models these but a bit of an odd spec as flat roof R-series day cabs were never exactly common. They also did a sleeper cab that's much closer to the Payne motor but would need a bit of height taking out of the middle to make a P-series. Not tried that myself but I think I've seen it done.

The day cab look were favoured by the plant hire companies - I knew my employees ran them - but god knows who the original owners were that they bought them from (saying that I had a 6 wheel bolt SWB 150 Transit and they didn’t exactly grow on trees either!).

The engine, interior and floorpan/suspension were all from my first go at it, I didn't think there was much scope for improvement there*, I just felt like having another go at the body and hoping to improve my paintwork. I did it pearl white this time, with no stripes for a more subtle look, and gold centres to the wheels which were gunmetal first time around.

I'm going through a similar exercise on a Toyota Celsior (LS400 Mk1), and may do it with a Skyline GT-R as well.

Now this one's out of the way I must get on with the refurb of that '57 Chevy.

*By this I mean I couldn't do it any better than when I was in my 20s, not that it's 100% perfect or anything!

Just checked out several shops on a Hot Wheels hunt - Morrison's had the remains of a new box so picked up the BMW CSL. Tesco, Poundland, Smyths, Poundstretcher and Home Bargains - nada.

Entertainer apparently got three new boxes in last week so of course all the good stuff had gone. Didn't expect anyone to be getting deliveries that week. Grr

Local charity shop had those lovely plastic bags full of toys, so as well as the following I got a load of toddlers Tomy cars. Still, Tonka buggy was worth the £2 alone, not seen a colour coded base before

And some non-US ones.  Some of these are diecasts actually.  I like to try and 'improve!' some of them with changes or additions, which is usually easier with diecasts.

Amazed to see these on the shelf, this was all they had,as I would have bought the full set of five.

Chuffed to have found the Starlet,I honestly thought I'd have to get it online, same for the Landcruiser.

Passing by an antiques centre and squandered a £10 😁 on this Siku Renault with this fabulous “BMX” livery. Sadly missing a trailer but it’s box fresh. Model number 3423.

Despite promising myself no more diecast, I have scored this supposedly 1/32 Frogeye on ebay. I've wanted one for ages really and plan to customise it to match my father's old one which he owned in the late 1960s. It seems model Frogeyes aren't particularly easy to source and generally sell for silly money, much like the real thing. This one is perfect for what I need- a project car.

I've also been watching Matchbox Lesney late 1970s 'Build-a-truck' examples. I jointly owned one with my bro back in the day.

Our young lad is massively into taking things apart and reassembling them as well as being a car nut. It didn't take much encouragement from Mrs DL to persuade me to score this beauty on ebay. Again, awaiting delivery on this on too.

Looking forward to receiving both!

Did you see the link I posted earlier? There's a yellow Frogeye on there...

No I hadn't, until now. The Frogeye you mentioned looks pretty good value although I'm happy with the example I've got on the way - the detailing looks clearer and it's slightly larger at 1/32. Mine likely worked out slightly cheaper delivered to the door too.

Interesting to see another source nonetheless!

First time in many years I bought a Hot Wheels at the store. They had a huge crate of them at the checkout so I couldn't resist. I also couldn't believe they had a '96 Impala SS and a freaking Dodge Rampage so naturally I bought both of them.

I have been digging. Look at  what is hidden in this box.

Under this is another layer. Which is the old garage my father made for me when I was a boy. I thought I had posted a photo of that. But I cannot find it at the moment.

So expect some more photos of this collection. However, I do warn you a lot are not pretty. Most have suffered in some way.
