I blame the Mrs, suggesting I order Smyth's stuff online instead of running around trying to find it. This set wasn't available to order, but I could reserve it - so I did

Cheers guys.

I've now bought a wrist release job from one seller, and a pair of wind-up Chargers from another seller. I'm trying to thin out my collection - it's going well 😂

The pair of Chargers have arrived. They're virtually mint (shame about one a pillar), and guess what?

They both work! Over the moon!

One will be available at some point if anyone is interested. 20260304_195037.jpg.cb53b867521dcf9e74d7feea749fa47a.jpg

Hadn't bought any Norevs for ages, until someone on eBay listed a lot of 7 for £21. I did end up with 3 duplicates but those are spoken for.

I will add they did not pack them very well, the flatbed was loose in its box. No damage done, but still mind numbingly bothersome that people think that's ok.

What a contrast there! Those cars are lovely and good enough to sit with proper collectors' models, but the truck is awful and no better than the no-name Chinese tat you find in charity shops. I'd be very disappointed to find that in an expensive 'premium' set.

On the subject of Matchbox tampo printing, I read somewhere that for cost reasons they're limited to two passes through the machine. That means you can have front and rear detailing or side detailing but not both.

Which Matchbox do you think would have been viable as a Super GT but didnt?

It had the doors cast shut so it would have worked. I think the mould got sent to Bulgaria and China in the end?

I thought the MB8 Mustang would have done well as a super GT

The No. 33 Lamborghini Miura should have been a shoo-in as a Super GT casting - would have gone well alongside the Iso Grifo and Lotus Europa of the same era.

The Peugeot flatbed has play value...

PXL_20260305_173157866.jpg.4d56c0bf0fa1660633ca33165afa0978.jpgThere's a lever behind the rear wheels that allows the rear ride height to drop, meaning you can pretend it's dragging something onto the bed.

I managed to flog some of my Bburago job lot, then decided to save the money for a rainy day.

Of course I didn't, I bought several bundles off Vinted. This is an interesting little dead end by Mattel, 2008 only 1:50 scale VWs. There are six castings, three series and numerous colours within each. I have a few already but this guy had loads. I missed some as once again, they sold faster than I could get a deal done, but I still got 7 type 3s in Square and Fastback designs, with a couple of Karmann Ghias to follow later
