Hmmmmmm. Interesting.....

I have the same Polistil Jaguar in great condition but just missing its rear bumper which that one has. Might also be interested in the Panda.....

However, I may be dropping 3-figures for a model car.... all will revealed if the deal goes through.... so will almost certainly be barrassic come next month.

I know a couple of folks on here have managed to re-make missing plastic parts using a suitable pattern item and a resin kit... such a thing might be feasible here, to recreate a rear bumper and a grille and end up with two complete-looking Jags?

I'll see what's left on the stall come Friday, sure!

Intrigued by your three-figure model, though... Don't tell me Otto are dropping a Rover 800??

Got myself an RO80 in metallic brown - bonnet cable must be broken as it won't open

Mmm, nice... I'm on the lookout for a Husky version of the Ro80 with the original chrome-insert wheels. Later type Whizzwheels don't half change the stance of the old Husky castings!

Seems there's been some extra depth of metal added to the lower part of the F350 casting too, in addition to the wider metal base - look at the difference in the arches.

Early type Whizzwheels are actually quite delicate - no bigger than the Husky type. These still sit within the arches, while the red example has the rims very much outside the arch.

Still think the Husky looks best, mind!

Incidentally, when viewed side by side you can see that the Husky base moulding was modified to take the Juniors lettering, too - the odd flat bit above (below?) the Whizzwheels lettering used to say 'truck'.

Which do you lot prefer? Some highly* scientific tests indicate that the metal-base version rolls further when launched down a ramp, most likely due to its greater mass...

I picked up both, shall post them out!

See, my Jag has its complete front bumper and grille which can be used for a template if someone wanted to make a resin copy. That'd be great.

Regarding the model, I won't reveal it until its my hands. But you're not off ?

The Husky. Are there any other plastic base Husky castings that were released as Corgi Juniors, keeping the base rather  than making a new one?

I hadn't noticed the casting change on the body before.

This particular one's been rehomed, but can keep my eyes peeled for any others at the market...

Yeah that would be easier. I forgot about that one I had one as a kid with no windshield. I also had a bright pink Allante I wonder where they went?  I always liked the suspension that Majorettes.

TV cabinet is back up to 9 now...

I decided the nearest thing to natural bedfellows was having two Pontiacs together.  TA is a 79, for the second film, rather than the prettier 77 from the first, because, well, have you seen the price of a 77?

There's been an addition to the police fleet, but it's too good to strip and restore...

762977809_DC035.thumb.jpg.5e1144a5e2c9f7e13669088e2c16f9a8.jpg

I already had it, just decided it should be among the other Dinky cops.  I have a Volvo too but it seems like a bigger scale, so won't be joining these.

777327760_DC036.thumb.jpg.db3bca94111ebc7e02c78ccfbb89e3a1.jpg

MB Jags won't be joining either; again it's a question of scale.

235565503_DC034.thumb.jpg.1f44a0fbe1274642af8d212c1e67f357.jpg

I made a start on my Volvo 740 estate.  The Humvee came to bits quite easily too.  Let's see how this develops.....

1897586545_DC033.thumb.jpg.15d76aa27de4d27728a4a7b7fc6e8b23.jpg

And finally today, the next, and quite possibly last, group to go under the drill for stripping.  The window sections on the Range Rover and Atlas shattered, so I'll have to get some ordered.

HNNNGH BBURAGO 1/24

Always get a bit over excited when I see a Panda, not that many models about.

Mine, with mine.. anyone know a good way to get the Carabinieri decal off the screen or do I have to get one to put on the real car to match up?

It very nearly wasn't.. Rather a poor selection again today, this trio of Lone Star Road masters were the only things to come home with me. The rear bumper on the Rambler is nothing a dab of glue wouldn't sort and the Cadillac is quite nice in its own way. Wasn't too fussed about the Corvair once I'd noticed a headlamp and bumper corner were gone, but the seller was keen for a deal.

That's neat work: normally when I use a junior hacksaw it looks rather more like I've used my teeth...

Looking forward to seeing how this one pans out! Amazing that so many many toymakers produced a 740/760, but always in saloon format...

No, not that many model Pandas out there... I had a Bburago 1/43 (de-stickered) that got passed on a while back, and currently have one that I think was from a Fiat partwork - but both Mk1s, never clocked a Mk2 like yours. Looking good!

Not sure if a cotton bud dipped in acetone nail polish remover and rubbed over the Carabinieri decal might do the job... though getting your real one to match the model is, I feel, the stuff of champions...

Exactly!  Well done :)  You can actually get the 55 Chevy, both in primer grey for TLB and in black for American Graffiti (same car, as I'm sure you know), but they are thin on the ground, and the prices.... eek!

Thank you.  I actually thought it wasn't my best work, and put it down to getting old, and working in a scale I've more or less abandoned for that reason.  With regard to the 7-series saloons... notice that every 240 model was the estate!  If this goes well I might look for a 240 with no tailgate, and damaged glass, to make into a saloon...

The Rambler I'd like to keep but the Corvair and Cad can move on if you fancy them. 7.50 for the Cadillac, fiver for the Corvair. (I gave twenty for the three)

Quite often Corgi versions of the 245 missing a tailgate crop up in the market tat boxes... Let me know if that's an avenue you're thinking of going down! I may be able to furnish a suitable donor...

The second film used the MY 1980 turbo.  Did they sell that '79 as a Bandit II car?  I thought they sold it as the Kill Bill car?

Different wheels, extra detailing on arch lips, etc,

To be honest I don't know.  This one was just listed as "a black Firebird" and was close enough for me.  Likewise my Christine was just "a red Plymouth" and again , was good enough.  I actually hadn't spotted the differences in the Kill Bill car!

Posted

Have to check if they used a 57 or a 58 Plymouth for the Christine model - supposed to be a 58 but you can spot 57's in the film - lower grille under the bumper is the biggest clue. This is a 57 with single headlights but twin bezels

image.thumb.png.449af8ad9a34bd12f65139c83836b9cc.png

This is a 58 (in the proper Fury colour for that year)

image.thumb.png.be5e29df28fb254fa5864e792fc03d4f.png

The tail lights are different too but harder to spot
