Junkman Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 I always thought the road signs /beacons etc were made by Dinky:https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dinky-Toys-2x-Black-White-Yellow-Beacon-Traffic-Signals-777-/172046977515Thanks for the many many photos reporting of the exhibition. NP. Well, your link proves that they aren't made by Dinky, something I've concluded when I did my own research previously. Remspoor 1
egg Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 You're getting every stage of this one, now the next base coat of standard primer. Look at that fantastic casting! Shame I didn't notice the inside of the screen needed filing/sanding... Amishtat, vulgalour, mercrocker and 8 others 11
eddyramrod Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 That really is a nice casting, isn't it? Matchbox were really really good at that in the 60s. mercrocker, Junkman and egg 3
egg Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 Now painted and reassembled, my childlike impatience leading to a small chip. Now will be left to fully cure before detailing. mercrocker, Remspoor, Sudsprint and 13 others 16
Christine Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 Or make one of these... 17f61dfc7f46646906aaee04452d4307.jpg Noice ! . !!!
59Impala Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 More work has gone into repairing and preparing that Matchbox Fiat 1500 than the one that I banger raced back in the hot summer of 1976. And I still have my Matchbox Fiat, one owner from new and one of my favourite cars to play with way back then. I also picked up a mint one for two quid a couple of years ago. mercrocker, egg, eddyramrod and 1 other 4

mercrocker Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 That is looking really good, already though. Top marks! Christine, egg, Burnside and 1 other 4
Burnside Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 Due to mainly me and Felly getting excited over all things Gama / Schabak related. I recently bid and won these pair of Fords off ebay. The Escort despite being in excellent condition had two bent axles annoyingly. So fitted these Schabak XR2i spare wheels instead for now. Will try and get the originals straight again at some point but for now quite happy with these. The Orion was ok thankfully. An to show it's not all about the Vauxhall / Opel's here my other Ford's. A Schabak Fiesta XR2i and a Gama MK1 Mondeo. Got to say as well that the Angila pickup conversion looking fantastic so far. I'm really enjoying seeing Vulg and egg work too. It gives me hope that I can tackle some of mine this year. RayMK, Split_Pin, MarvinsMom and 4 others 7
egg Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 New arrival in good condition, apart from missing steering wheel which was not noted in the listing. eddyramrod, vulgalour, 59Impala and 6 others 9
egg Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 In quite an exciting day, this has also arrived from the Doctor. First time I've had my hands on one of these. Sudsprint, Christine, eddyramrod and 7 others 10
junkyarddog Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 My latest fixer-upper! Matchbox Cortina,as an end of life banger. Ah,just how I remember them Conrad D. Conelrad, Burnside, egg and 15 others 18
Conrad D. Conelrad Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 A few weeks ago, I bought one of these Matchbox Mobile Homes from a toyfair. Then immediately got a better condition one from Eddy. So what to do with the scruffy one? Some piss poor masking there, but doesn't that just add authenticity? eddyramrod, Skizzer, Tenmil Socket and 11 others 14
Christine Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 Is that the NASA command centre ? Burnside, blakey79, Conrad D. Conelrad and 1 other 4
junkyarddog Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 There's quite a few variations of that casting,Think there is a red fire engine one too. Junkman, Burnside and Christine 3
Christine Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 I found a picture of a red Kenex .... so mines red ,as i had some red paint . The temptation to reassemble is high, but I know it'll mark up with fingerprints so i'm desisting ! It's looking good though innit ? .. Edit Bah.. someone else made one , but in 43rd , already http://www.anglia-models.co.uk/va000-01.htm No ones done a Toreno Anglia though  http://www.anglia-models.co.uk/torino.htm Amishtat, mercrocker, 59Impala and 10 others 13
mercrocker Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 Yeah but that's just old Vanguards crap...
Christine Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 Good therefore Cheap !! Is the Husky one worth a packet ..and I've just chopped it up ?
Junkman Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 A few weeks ago, I bought one of these Matchbox Meth Labs... FTFY
vulgalour Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 Bit late to go worrying about things like value now, Christine! I'd be surprised if the Husky Anglevan is worth much of anything, they don't seem to be particularly desirable and weren't exactly expensive when new. Junkman 1
egg Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 I've not got any husky - and never had any when a kid - but the base plates look exceptionally fragile - are they ok to drill out?
Junkman Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 Yeah, not a problem. A bit like the Matchbox Fiat. egg 1
mercrocker Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 Values in Husky toys are completely in the packaging and completeness. A mint Husky Anglebox van (with its telly and aerial quotient) should be worth no more than a tatty real one was in 1976 - about a tenner. Probably I am wrong (I usually am regarding values) but it ain't rare so don't sweat it! egg and Junkman 2
