IIRC these age Dinkys were screwed together hence making changing the shit wheels easy.

Another reason....

CFs are riveted together sadly, shame they didn't do them the same size as the Transit

If that eBay CF doesn't work out let me know, I have one I'd be happy to sell on for a very modest amount.

Toyfair Purchases 01/18 by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr

It wasn't one I had as kid and I'd rather concentrate on assembling a collection of 'big' Corgis.

Has anyone heard of the Paradise Garage brand?

Posted

Probably a Daihatsu Midget. I did think it might be a pick-up version of a Daihatsu Bee at first, similar styling, but the next nearest thing I can find is the Midget.

No clues underneath apart from the obligatory 'Made in China.'  It has an indistinct large 'T' on the front and motorcycle type forks.  Whilst manhandling it one of the front doors opened (both do), a feature I was unaware of.

Remspoor, I hope you realise just how many hours I've now lost to watching model railway builds.  That Magnorail stuff looks like a good solution for a couple of model roadway ideas I've had fomenting in the back of my brain for a few years, originally I was looking at using bicycle components to make one, but the Magnorail stuff looks much easier to put together for what I want.  I'm now trying to decide if I want to build a multi-tier model roadway for my existing Lesney/Matchbox (I'll sort according to scale to decide what to use for this), or whether to put the sci-fi model roadway idea I've had for a long time into action.  Either way it's great to have yet another project idea that I can fantasise about wasting investing all my money and time into.

Another day off to catch up on paperwork :(

Which has been forgotten about and saw my return to my sub zero workshop :)

It may be a tad* cold but that hasn't stopped my production line.

An open flame and spray paint ? WCPGW ?

Absolutely nothing, no nuns or kittens died.

As it's not time for new year resolutions yet, pastis has been consumed to counteract the paint fumes and modelcarparts.com is a bit richer.

So is an ebay seller flogging repro boxes.

RayMK:  This is the one I'm thinking of.

Yes, it's a very close match.  The toy is LHD, so maybe modelled on an export version.

Festiveshite arrival - Vanguards Mini Clubman in Reynard.

post-17915-0-95526200-1545948519_thumb.jpg

This is the first and only model I have of any of my previously owned shite - and typically it's the one I owned for the shortest amount of time. Mine didn't have a vinyl roof or Denovos, mind.

And it was banjaxed.

Hey ho.

i like the way that Vanguards have used the same shade of Reynard metalic that Dinky used in their civilian version of the Mini Clubman.....

Absolutely! I had a Dinky version too, but let it go along with the full-size car when I passed it on to a fella from school.

Planning to re-jig my display cabinets come the New Year to showcase all my BL chod...

Schabak/Gama/Schuco are winners. They were way out my price range until I was older. The first one I got was a blue Audi 80, just like my neighbour's F reg example. Followed by a Beetle, a 411 and various unboxed items swapped with a friend. All sadly now gone.

Good buyage Marty!

That Aldi and Holden came to under £25 for the pair with 1st class signed for shipping, and both are the full Trebor

One of these appeared on one of my Facebook groups yesterday; amazingly, a group for owners of American classics.  They know it over there as a Daihatsu Trimotor, apparently, and the one that appeared dated from 1962.

Just picked an "as new" airbrush compressor to have a go at giving some models a blow over

Can anyone recommend a decent starter spray gun/nozzles ect?

Any hints and tips on stripping paint, prepping and thinning?

I will be doing 1/18 diecast mainly so nothing too fiddly

Ta

Edit

After following somebody's link to Hiroboy.com I found they sell the 3 paint colours I need to crack on with my Heat For Hire Manta 400

Also stumbled upon a Legacy estate which will get finished to look like my own....

Trip into town with a few loose coins in my pocket inevitably lead to this. £4 -which is all the money for this unloved model (sans stretcher)

A bit of autosol on the grille and bumper and chrome pen on the headlights cheers her up a bit...

That pre-Superkings Binz is a nice model and it still has the door frames - they're often missing!

It not only had a stretcher but the poor fella had a wee red blanket - I found one of those in a box of old toys in a charity shop once too!

I have one of those Binz ambulances in the project queue, that I've owned from new.  Don't ask me where the patient has gone though...
