It's nearly that time again!

Chodmunterly Castle classic car show is on Sunday the 13th May this year, anyone fancy it? Think this will be our third of fourth year of Autoshite attending and it's a good day out. I'll check prices (I think it works out about £6.00 each) and post details when I know more. Anyone interested please stick your name below so I can work out the numbers and if we get enough I'll book one or two areas for us. We always but always have the best display of shite on show and it's always a bloody good laugh.

For anyone who hasn't been/doesn't know where it is, the postcode is: SY14 8AH.

I'll try and get there, but the Great Escort Collection Mission is that week. If I'm back in the UK, I'll bring it.

Posted

I will be able to make it there in something. Not sure what yet but one of them will be on the road.

I'll go! Can I take the Volvo and A frame the Maxi with me too?

Posted

Sadly if its a Sunday in caravan season where I am not at work, the missus will have my arse and the Van up in Westmorland singing ging gang gooley.

Count me in as ever, Billy. Looks like pop-up headlights may be making a Chodley comeback this year!

Posted

Go for it Tim it'd be quite funny to see that but they may charge you twice! I haven't actually got a pre-1993 car at the moment so I'll just buy something crap beforehand and roll up in that.

Hope you can make it Pete be good to see you there again mate. No danger of the Poohjot being ready I take it!

Posted

Yeah I'd be up for that Billy, it's always a nice run across there in the Datty.

Posted

The PooJot can be there - if someone wants to buy it off me in the next month or so. It has to go before April.

I didn't expect the Escort to be anywhere near ready to bring back in time, but it will be, so subject to it making the 1100 mile trip to here under it's own steam in time I'll bring it to Chodmongely.

It won't be UK registered, but I'll forward the reg when I know it.

Shame I won't be taking the 604, we'll have to arrange a mini meet beforehand to give it a run out before it goes up for sale.

Will it be cold, wet and windy? I would assume that these are essential ingredients for an Autoshite wayzgoose* In which case we will try and be there - will top up the Safari with LPG and try and find digs for the weekend.

*wayzgoose - pronounced wazeygoose: archaic term for a printers' works outing in ramshackle vehicles (I made the last bit up)

I had similar thoughts: the BX behind the (surprisingly grunty) Lada Samara. I have A-framed the BX back from Wythenshawe before, Chumley's not much further, and it's all down hill from North Yorkshire...

Most years the sun is cracking the flags, been really lucky weather wise.

Pete, yeah mini meet sounds ideal. Need to organise a run to Mouldsworth motor museum soon so perhaps meet up there one Saturday? Is the Peugeot finished now?

Im in, as ever, and unless something changes I'll be in the Golf.

Pug not far from being back on the road. Needs a service, a couple of rack gaiters, Mot and tax and a few bits of trim refitting.

Mr DS, other than a few spots of rain last year which buggered off sharpish it has been great weather every time I've been. Come on up, it'll be fun.

Aye, I'm game. Dunno what the fuck I'll be driving, like.

Yes, count me in. The Yellow 910 SSS Bluebird is due to be shown and where better 8)

Bump!!

Are you sorting tickets for this Billy?? It's not that far away now is it!

Posted

Yeah, I will come with the Polonez. Tis a 2.5hr drive from North Yorkshire :)

Posted

I'll order them asap Si. Samba will let you know when they're here sir and post one out.

Volksy and I started looking at the Lancia again this weekend and out target is to get it on the road for Cholmondeley. Ordering the subframe mounts tomorrow.

However we may turn up in something else.......I mean we will defo be in the Lancia.

Nearly a year since it arrived, I have this weekend finally started to make some serious progress on the Samara. Hopefully it will be on the road and 'run in' by then.. if not, the trusty BX14 daily will glide us to Chumley once again.

I could fancy this - MG1600 or 309SR, choices choices...

Fook, forgot about this

Time to pull the finger out and get the Herald welded, MOT'D and Registered (Which i fear DVLA will take forever)

Posted

Bring the Senny and stick some 'for sale' signs in it Pete!

I haven't even got a suitable car to come in yet so will try and get the Aldi on the road just in case. If most else I can choke everyone out on the veg oil fumes.

Posted

I'm hoping the Senny will be sold before then.... and the 604, but no doubt I'll still have one or the other.

Posted

Was giving serious thought to getting the Celica MOT'd and recommisioned, and putting a For Sale sign in it. But need to insure and tax it to do this, and I really don't have the money.

Oh well, Volvo it is!!!

Posted

I'm still going, but just in the 240!
