I think if it’s had an mot or tax in the last five years you can put the plate on retention.

Lost two months of mot though.

A previous neighbour here left the driver's door open all night on their saab. Not just unlocked, but wide ajar. I found it in the morning as I was going out, shut it for them and the alarm went off!

I think the xm is similar to the cx and merc in that it will rely on current / amps variation. The one on my cx worked but was disconnected when I bought it as the light came on when you used the driver’s window. Mainly I suspect because of the twin tow bar wiring mucking things up.

Did the display not tell you? Thinking about it, I had mine from 2006 to 2012 and don’t recall changing a bulb. but the previous cx and subsequent merc. Both alerted to failed bulbs.

I had the same when I bought the last cx in 2001. Owner said central locking plip didn’t work. Three cell batteries later it lasted until I sold it in 2006.

A 2cv is really the only car anyone needs. 50mpg, 4 doors and a decent boot. Took mine to waitrose this morning with the roof down at 7.30am and 21 degrees and it rained on the way back with no clouds in the sky!

Number plate deteriorated, but not likely to be misread.

Twenty years ago I did 2000 miles in a fortnight my 2cv down to grasse near nice and back with our club. Saw the ag2r cycling team too I think near Saint Paul du Vence.

Some underbody Shutz spray? One wing on this is original. The n/s was hit by a Porsche 20 years ago and replaced with another original. Neither have had much rust treatment for a long time.

At least it’s consistent. I’d check the wiring loom to the door.
