  1. There's a queue I'm afraid Yes quite a long one!
  2. Bouyed by this successful fix I gave it a wash and discovered that the OSR rear brake caliper is pissing fluid. New one seems to just be £94 and comes with a motor too. My code reader does the caliper windback as well so not so bad. I'll just have to use the Saab for a bit until it arrives!
  3. Cheers Ronnie! I think our cars are indeed the same colour!
  4. Sorted. A folded up bit of paper on top of the battery to press it down more has worked 😂
  5. I replaced the battery in my key a few weeks ago. Today the car would not recognise the key, it no longer locks/unlocks and I have to put the key in the ignition to start it (which sometimes does not work either) I'm also getting a message saying the key battery is low. So I replaced with the correct CR2032, Energiser brand with absolutely no difference at all. The key is stone dead with no green flashes when a button is pressed. I checked the owners manual but couldn't see a key reset procedure. I'm very patient with old cars and expect problems but this one's frustrating as I can't really chance driving anywhere at the moment. I was in a garage that my relationship did not end well with (but my mum still wants to use them) and I could not get the car to start at all as nothing was happening even when turning the key in the ignition. Very embarrassing. Hopefully I'll find a solution soon!
  6. If you don't want a diesel just because of ULEZ you could have had my late Dad's 2017 V40. Not sure what your budget is mind, I was looking for £9,500.
  7. I haven't tried Sport mode in the gearbox yet, but then I've had my 75 for 4 years and not tried Sport mode on it . However the latter seems ridiculous on a diesel auto 4 cylinder car with an 'older' image 😂
  8. You can't beat a post shite-fixing drink/coffee/tea! Amazing work, all on the drive and with kids to look after as well. I really should fit the rear discs for the 75 I've had in the garage for ages but the advisory went away* and it stops just fine so I have been lazy. Puts me to shame really!
  9. Yes I usually just keep it in Auto too but I was really surprised at the difference. Comfort mode is still my favourite though!
  10. I know Mannol is a perfectly fine oil, but because the chains are at the back of this engine and replacement is not really a viable option on a car of this value, I wanted to be super careful with my choice of oil. VW spec 507 is low ash so only really important over a longer term if the car had a DPF, which this one does not. So I picked a (slightly cheaper) fully synthetic 5w30 quality oil from Fuchs which I know is a 'known' brand althought not 507 spec. So out came the Mannol and in went 8 litres of Fuchs plus a new filter. I guess the engine has had a flush with clean cheap oil for a few hundred miles. Anyway it's given me peace of mind. After my holiday I am still running a lot of errands for my mum in connection with stuff to do with my dad and tonight I tried the dynamic setting on the suspension which only comes with Sport models. Not expecting much, the difference is incredible. It really stiffens the car up and transforms the driving experience, giving confidence in the corners (it feels like it's going to fall over in comfort mode on twisty roads). I then used lift mode to go over the 327 speed humps on the road up to my mum's house. I made a short video of the car and its suspension moving up and down. In the clip it's not that noticeable but in person the car goes from an almost Allroad ride height into something quite sporty! https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxKV6q-Ta341qbH_OxNtW_rHpCPs2mL4G2?si=MiQLcC9fxbm7I7Bl
  11. The Alfa looks glorious, lovely colour. I also can't get over how there's a real bit of Hadrians wall at the end of your street, very cool.
  12. My 'addidas' 4-stripe sliders have covered many miles.
  13. Grump because my wife phoned and said that some cunt had bumped the A4 in Tesco car park this morning and fucked off. Not anything like as bad as I was expecting, barely noticeable on fact and it's certainly not the first time this bumper has been bumped anyway. Just as well its an old car. All sorted: Still looks decent: The reason she knew someone had bumped the car is because someone else left a note on the windscreen giving the make, model, colour and reg plate of the car that bumped into mine, which was very good of them. I was going to call the police and leave it at that but considering there's no damage done then I'm just going to forget about it.
  14. This was my most played with car out of all the ones that were given to me by my dad and uncles. It even fitted on my Marchbox Play Track. My example is now on a Corgi Transporter!
  15. The Allegro would look better with just a bit of weathering and a yellow wing!
  16. No old cars in Scotland because they salt the roads from late September until late May in some areas. Good choice to take the 75. Its a great way to cover a hundred miles and get out feeling like you've only done ten.
  17. Thar looks perfect. I literally hate you for posting these up as I'll have to go to ebay now 😂
  18. I did spot some nice long cards in a Target but none that jumped out at me.
  19. Exactly . We don't need our nappies changed over things like this. I deleted my own fleet threads because there was little to no interest and it was just taking up bandwidth. But I'd never touch any thread that I created and I can see people care about. Even the LCBL Audi thread as my ownership is just a part of its appreciable history on the forum. Anyone who isn't grown-up enough to act in this way or is just attention seeking quickly gets flushed out and either ignored or they move on.
  20. Sadly, hee-haw diecast in New York. Even the tat souvenir shops don't have any recent replicas of service vehicles, they did when I was last here in 2003. Nice Hot Wheels display in Macy's but it completely failed to deliver as there were no cars on sale at all. Some Action Drivers sets, I thought @Datsuncog may like to see these. I did try and get into FAO Schwartz, but there was some kind of kids character even on and I couldn't be arsed waiting in yet another line (NY has A LOT of lines to wait in) so left. However as the Toyota Camry is by far and away the most popular car here, I ordered a decent looking 1/32 version from ebay of the latest generation.
  21. Eh, a coolant tempsensor chucks more fuel in until its warmed up.....
