  1. Why can they not just produce all those models as stock road cars? The Supra would have been great but I find this version just sterile.
  2. I did an oil change on the A8 today. No idea how the last person used an oil extractor because the lance on mine wouldn't go all the way into the sump. Similar to the Saab, there is some kind of baffle at the bottom and I wasn't confident. So as there was no undertray I just dropped it out the bottom. The sump plug is huge! Just as well I did as there was at least 8.5 litres in the sump and I'd have been pumping for ages and got drenched when the heavens opened shortly after. Thankfully I was all done in half an hour, the tidying up took the same again. I think I need a code reader to reset the service indicator.
  3. I'm leaving this particular job to my local garage!
  4. I think I read somewhere that the A8 had a few dead glow plugs. My brother in law was visiting from Stockton yesterday and I was showing it to him. It slightly embarrassed me by doing a particularly hard start for me, with some smoke and rich diesel smell 😅 Thankfully his diesel Jaguar X Type is the same plus he is a mechanic so he didn't bat an eyelid. NGK items are just over a tenner each so an inexpensive improvement to make to the car 😀
  5. Today I have to say goodbye to my Dad. I already miss not being able to show him my latest car purchase. We didn't order a car to transport us to the Crematorium as I felt the 75 was a perfectly fitting vehicle. It was also the last car he took a ride in. I have made sure that April is a packed month with 2 holidays and a new car to be attending to.
  6. It is indeed. I had to replace a couple of missing tyre valve dust caps today. I didn't need to remove the bumper.
  7. Same here, I'm sure I'll get it working again but it has so many other good qualities anyway.
  8. Oh boysoboys, that's ace! Prime US Domestic chod 1979 Chevy Malibu.
  9. Ooh a first issue Corgi Minor Saloon! I have the first ever issue which is the Panda car with the thick quarterlight and incorrect wing curve but this was the first civilian version. I also have the second civilian release which is Trafalgar blue. All from 1988 when they were, in my opinion, a revelation.
  10. First wash and vacuum in my ownership. Apart from the front bumper this is my nicest condition car by a mile. The keyless entry and start has stopped working for some reason. I wondered if it was the fob battery getting low, but not enough that it throws a message on the dash, and just enough to open the car with the button. So I bought a new CR3032 battery. If that doesn't work well no big deal, it doesn't affect anything, I just felt aloof and cool AF getting into my car and driving away without the key! I was worried I wouldn't enjoy the 75 any more but I drove it today and still enjoyed it just as much as I did before.
  11. Sorry but that does my head in. These folk need to grow a set, look at their household finances, if nothing needs doing and it's their own money then make their own decision and spend it. Christ. Babies. GLWTS
  12. Sorry you didn't need to sell the A8 in the end, you did seem quite sad to see it go yesterday 😕 Rest assured it has gone to a good home. It has been a dream car of mine since the D3 was launched. I did a circuit of the nearby streets before meeting you yesterday to warm up (wearing shorts was a bad idea) and I took a tour of your fine collection!
  13. I remember seeing that advert!
  14. I've been following your various threads in the Noddy truck, you probably already know you are quite famous for it! Look forward to reading more about it.
  15. That Corona is class. It must surely be the only roadworthy example in the UK. I've never seen one before.
  16. I'll just chuck it at my garage come MOT time, and get them to look there, they are surprisingly inexpensive. Really pleased with it, I have wanted one ever since I saw my first one in a queue for a ferry way back in 2003. My son was amazed at the seat adjustments, he even found some that I hadn't yet discovered when on the journey back.
  17. Car drove excellent on the way home and returned 44.8mpg. Just a knock from a front suspension link somewhere as declared in the advert. It only did it on the very last speed-hump outside my house so can't complain. It's incredibly clean and tidy and a credit to the previous owner. My wife and son are big fans of it already.
  18. Collected, a pleasure @Schaefft Refreshments stop at the geese place. Car is huge!
  19. Good luck, it is indeed a fine day for a collection.
  20. There's no point in me starting another collection thread today as the first 2/3rds of the journey is exactly the same as the last one I did. Plus if you read my last thread you'll see that John Craven's behaviour was so obnoxious that I've told him that buses aren't for him and he's to stay home. Even the brand of car is the same. In short: Car to the train station to catch the 9.18 to Edinburgh. Megabus at 10.40 to Newcastle, arrives at 1.20. Unfortunately there is only 1 Megabus on a Sunday on this route so it means I have to kick about in town for a few hours before getting a 10 or 11 bus to the sellers house for 4pm. Hopefully everything goes smoothly. Car is paid for and insured and I have located a nearby fuel station.
  21. I also have a really weird Hotwheels cabriolet version with a blue driver 🤷‍♂️
  22. That style of Corgi E30, and its 1/36 bigger brother were my favourites. Even the more expensive Gama examples were way beneath them in terms of quality and finish.
