  1. They are certainly of their time...
  2. They are very annoying aren't they? I meant to post pretty much your words the other day after getting guffed at while on my way through yet another toy department. I mean...farts are funny but it must be awful working in Entertainer and having them go off all day, while listening to the music from Frozen for the 28th time that week
  3. Could be But one of the previous ones was orange too
  4. Oh I've not seen that yet Still hoping to see the VW set
  5. Chevrolet Opala https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Opala And it's wagon version, the caravan
  6. I've had a day touring around picking up cars. Decided to go into Basildon, and realised I'd cocked up. Last week the Mrs called while I was driving and told me Entertainer had a premium set with a white/blue stripes Yenko Corvair. Nah, that's an old one Well it wasn't, it was this And of course the others had now gone bar the van Bah. Oh well, I went off to pick up a bag of cars from the young lad who normally sells at the boot sale (plus a couple from the charity shop) Like most Hot Wheels of the era, no name on the base - I think this may be a promotional release Easily identifiable Peugeot 505 has the info on the base of course Charity shop find, and another I need to find the name of The other charity shop find is a bit of a rabbit hole too, bearing the name "Chevrolet SS" on the base. Looking this up on Wiki suggests it's a Chevrolet Opala - no not Impala, a Brazilian car based on the Opel Rekord/Commodore. Huh. Moving onto Matchbox, my bag of goodies contained a fairly decent RS2000 A twin pack (I think) AMX And a pretty nice Holden but sans bikes as usual Last but no means least, @andrew e spotted a Studebaker Wagonaire with the cameraman intact and it's yet another variation, being a Corgi Whizzwheels rather than a Husky, and having those large... hinges? at the base of the tailgate. It also has the much lighter, fluted blue glass in the rear. Both my Husky... ...and Corgi... ...have darker glass and no hinges or whatever they are on the tailgate. There are so many variations of this casting!
  7. Hot Wheels Volvo has a pillar in an annoying place As if by magic 64 Nova Wagon has one just like the Revenger estate Didn't do the greatest job with the black but you get the idea
  8. A bit of matt black works wonders for disguising stuff like that
  9. I see some right idiots towing stuff. Transits with a generator on the back doing 70+ in lane 3 is a fairly common sight, or no lights/number plate etc. Worst one recently was a large knackered boat on a trailer with no mudguards, lights or plate, being towed on a wet dual carriageway on a heavily overcast day. From behind you obviously couldn't see the car lights to know when this knucklehead was going to change lanes of course
  10. I've got a few MK3s but only got one pic of a boot open, so I probably either did realise it moved, or mine are stuck too
  11. I must have had a poor condition police one to raid the engine cover off of - I'll check the spares box and see what's in there as it's not often I chuck stuff in the bin
  12. My rozzers and coastguard ones have the other wheels - in fact all mine do
  13. Deliveries! Norfolk correspondant @Spottedlaurel found me this rather lovely Majorette Porker These were something I knew existed, I just hadn't ever seen any in this country. Zee Toys branded but 100% Maisto castings within I can see the MADE IN MACAU and FERRARI 308 GTB on the base but not the maker - I have no doubt it will say Maisto or MC Toys though Lastly, this I'm slightly obsessed with copies and knockoffs, this was advertised as possibly being a Lucky (it isn't) Obviously a plastic copy of the earliest iteration of the Dinky MK1 Transit but in plastic. Being used to such things from Lucky, I expected it to be 50-100% larger - but no Absolutely no idea who made it, but it's fantastic, copied the extendable radar gun thing and the roofrack but of course no opening bits, just a friction motor - and the radar gun slips into a recess in the roof unlike the original. Love it.
  14. I've just sold mine. It always felt slightly disappointing as it was very light, for the size of it I would have expected a bit of heft. Decent amount of opening bits but...meh
  15. Goggle suggested an article about the Ambassador in Ireland today, with a few period pics Which then lead me to a load of more recent pics
  16. Mini Bus with completely undamaged glazing is an almost impossible find. Seen boxed ones with cracks in them - such as my own
  17. Can it be saved? So much of it looks good... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/156110215020?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=Oe1zcvSvTiS&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=X5RtjeAxSP-&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  18. Got myself a very nice Matchbox camper, only had a really tatty one before Also a plastic Transit Surprise! It's another Impulse Pinch Popper, this time with a Nissan 300ZX inside. Don't know if that's a copy of the Matchbox version yet Lastly the 911 from a new series. Maybe should have ordered some of the others too
  19. My mate is looking at that as a spares car, but I think it could be put back on the road too
  20. Strangely coincidental after last night's diecast sales extravaganza

    AI worded ads

It's just utterly pointless, and as I mentioned on the eBay Fuckwits thread, could potentially lead to "not as described" claims as the AI just makes up a load of bullshit. I can't see how they are in any way better, I know half the ads online appear to have been written by a stoned baboon, but I'd rather no description than this nonsense
  22. Bravery? https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1788251664947856/
  23. BS alarm has gone off here https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/407096431720742/ "600 ono starts runs and drives un shore on the mileage drives like a new car no knock and bangs" So you've driven it recently despite the brambles taking it over and mouldy steering wheel, but you don't know the mileage?
