More accurately a MK4 GTi with the early 150bhp 20vt. Interesting to read (outside of all the rehashed misinformed bollox from folk who've never driven one/owned one) that with hindsight there appears now to be alotta love for them. All I can say is ours might not be massively dynamic compared to the Citroen/fiat/BMW (could go on) fast stuff I've had, they're quick enough, handle well enough and have very impressive build quality. Our 170000 mile example was £400 has been through 3 members of the family now, been to the ring and back including 3 fast laps and is now our main family car. As of yesterday there's a deposit on it and on Monday I'm meeting it's new owner at Accrington train station. Once I hand over the keys it's off to a new life in France!!! Every time I sell a car it's out of the ordinary. In fact from now on I'm just going to set fire to the fuckers once I've finished with em.Thanks to those who said kind words and took tickets - much appreciated. After 5 years it's not easy to part with this but you can't keep em all. Plus I don't reckon it was ever going to go on here really!
