When I used to race fridges I bought a 1962 Smeg frostarama 2000 from an elderly gent. He'd owned it from new and it had great sentimental value. He said he'd only sell it to a good home so I said I was going to restore it and only use it to chill strawberries and cream on summer weekends out in the countryside. He actually wept as I took it away!

 

When I got it home I stripped it out, put in an H frame and took it to Hednesford Pre-68 classic white appliance meeting. I only lasted 1 corner! The magnetic door seal broke and the shelves fell out and smashed. Gutted!

 

Wish I still had it now as it would be worth atleast £150.
