Grab yourself some Mk1 BX fun!

A chap on BX Club is having a bit of a clear out. He narrowly beat me to this GT, but I ended up with a diesel estate which is far more in keeping with me.

He bought the car based on the Ebay ad above, but it's now in Yorkshire. Described as not bad. I don't have price details but it is a BX so it's not going to be thousands.

Even more WIN-inducing, he has a BX Digit for sale, with the super-desirable digital dashboard. It's quite horribly rotten, which has led some to conceive the idea of somehow combining the two cars...

I haven't put this in the Ebay thread as it's not on Ebay and I think it deserves its own thread. The GT is pretty rare (one BX Club member owns a BEIGE one. Lucky sod) but I think it's ace. Mr Bollox - surely this is your ideal next project? (well, it would be if you weren't already lining so many up perhaps!)

Moar details. http://www.bxclub.co.uk/forum/viewforum.php?f=5

A combination of the GT and the Digit sounds rather fun. BX DiGiT, anyone?

Bet it would be a bit of a 'mare getting the digital dash to work in a car it wasn't intended to be in, though.

I see at least one person (not you Ian) have more faces than the town hall clock regarding the seller of that BX. Old Dicky boy was getting a right old verbal pasting on there not so long back.

Yeah, not entirely without reason, but it did seem to go a bit far. I've no complaints about contact I've had with him. I wouldn't own the BX unless he changed his mind about wanting it himself (he took the GT, which was probably a better bet!)

Re: Reg Bollox buying it - can you weld plastic?

If anyone's going to buy a BX to do up then Dean (BX597, or something like that) is selling a cheap 4x4.

I had a B reg GT ages ago and loved it even though it tried to kill me by ejecting all it's LHM in Whitly Bay. I sold it to a guy who worked between Scotland and London and drove it down and parked near what ever London airport he was using so he didn't have to hire cars all the time.

One of the reasons I dont frequent there any more, that and lack of BX ownership.

Agreed. I think one person in particular wanted it to be something of a one man show.

Isn't that the story of pretty much every man/hobby/organisation? Reminds me of many other forums I've frequented in the past, and every crap preserved railway/model railway club I've been to. Sad really.

Have one of these to make up for my miserable comment.

I caused some mild upset on the Imp Club forum a while back complaining about a chap who had dozens on Imps. What pissed me off was the fact that they had loads of them sat in fields. Now that is something that is not beneficial to Imps. I am all for people keeping cars, as many as they like as long as they keep them properly. Even if they are pretty ropey, leaving them in a field will seal their fate.

All forums have their moments. Can't say the BXC thing bothers me. Seems almost odd to mention it at all it's so trivial.

To get back on topic, I think both the GT and the DIGIT are now up on Ebay.
