Decent motors, the old Terios. There was a 'T' reg purple one around the corner from where I used to live. Old boy owned from new and only done 60k-odd. Spotlessly clean and steel wheels to boot. I doubt it ever mounted so much as a kerb in it’s life. I'm sure it’s knocking around AutoTrader classifieds somewhere but can't seem to find it now :? . It was going pretty cheap, so no doubt it's probably gone now.

Yes, the Ssangyoung Musso – a heck of a lot of 4x4 for the money, there. I did once experience the later Daewoo version when I was new and I must admit, sh*te as it was, I really quite liked it…

Frontera? Jesus, even as a self-confessed Vauxhall fan, even I’d say 'no'!

Oi. Nowt wrong with a Fronterror. Unless it's the 2.216v rodThrowerâ„¢ or the 2.5 WhoredRoundAllAndSundryâ„¢.

:-D

Early Suzuki Vitara? Just over 13ft long and another cheap as chips one, but in your calling I would avoid anything looking like this, which may reduce your choice somewhat

Oddly enough most of the gay blokes I've known drive quite butch cars. One had a string of Sapphire Cosworths and another had a TR7 with a Rover V8 installed. Neither had ever shown a liking for pink Vitaras or even the occasional Mazda MX5.

In all honesty the only person I can see driving that is any female between the age of 17 and 19 years old with bleached blond hair and a name that ends in "on" or "ey" (like Shanon, Sharon, Dion, Tracey, Stacey, Lacey and so on).

And off the top of my head GLBT people I know own:

Ford Kugar

Rover 25

Pug 206 (surprisingly popular)

Drop top Astra

Corsa

Cit BX

Cit C3

I dont think there is a typical GLBT vehicle except the 206, which a few people I know own.

And enjoys pubbin an clubbin. She probably can't start a sentence on Facebook without using the abbreviation OMG either.

I hate her already.

Just sold a 46k mile low owner Vitara JX 1.6 hard top :D 1999 on T plate with full years mot and hardly a spot of grot for £800...............vitara7.jpg

I've driven a couple of Vitaras. My main memory is the noise! Sound deadening is for LUZERZ. One was a V6. Which sounded absolutely shit.

Has anyone mentioned a Feelander yet? Hopefully not, they're f*cking rubbish.

I had a Kia on rental last year - not bad but the one I had was a dud and the immobilizer failed - if we bought cars with our heads everyone would drive a Kia - new ones have an absurd warranty...

mind you it was fucking horrible and had no character whatsoever - give me a shitetrak any day!

Off to view this on Friday - 2.2 dizzle

Posted

Fronterror SWB 2.2 diz.

If it's at a dealer's Ted make sure the warranty covers the fuel pump and there's proof of regular oil changes using quality stuff.

Posted

Is the 2.2 Diz an ishooozooo unit or one of Vauxhalls own things?

Posted

Vx own.

Fuel pumps can be a bit fragile. Injector seals can leak - starts ok if pointed downhill but not up, 4x4 front diff actuator/boost control all done by vac pipe which perishes.

Do NOT run em on bio/veg oil. That's about it. Decent economy/performance.

Sam, on his 4th.

Actually read the ad now - I didn't know they did an actual 4x4 one! EPIC. Gr8 4 loading pigs and baskets of eggs.

I had a look at a Pajero Junior the other day. It's really tiny... possibly smaller than a Jimny even and only has a 1.1 four pot but felt remarkably spritely (albeit because it's very low geared). Really well equipped too and reasonably funky looking. I didn't get because it was starting to rust a bit but I'd definately buy one if one turned up at the right money in decent shape. Here's one...

I had a drive in an HRV a while back too. Kind of liked it but it was pretty slow TBH. They look great though.

These come in 4x4 form, and would no doubt be OK for tackling unmade roads with:

Would an early Impreza be small enough? Something like this spec being best, obviously:

Steel wheels FTW.
