Hello shiters, thought i'd introduce myself

Well i have been on here before, but a new computer at work means i lost all of my saved passwords etc, and i couldn't remember my login. So i'm back on here as Mingnut. Pleased to meet you. It's with some heart that i see i've got the rank of Toyota Starlet, considering what i'm driving at the moment:

Pure shite of the highest order, i'm sure you'll agree. It's just passed its MoT (legal until July 15 2012), the V5 says beige (but it's more like metallic gold) and it's got £130 worth of tax in the window - only needed a little patch on the sill and headlamp aim correcting. Not bad. 61,500 miles, 999cc 5 speed etc. If this is reading a little like an ad that's because it sort of is. My wife HATES it (can't stress that enough) and she wants me to get rid. Anyone interested before i cash the tax in and send to the wolves on eBay? £695 would be a good starting point as it has so much tax and test, although i guess it will go for less than that.

Anybody tempted? I'm after a Maestro to replace it (beige preferably)...

Welcome along Mingenut. Is that a former Practical Cl*ssIcs car in your avatar?

Hello. I think I may have seen that Allegro the other day, being driven along by a man in a hat. Possibly.

Hello, nice car very clean lines.

IIRC those Starlets were rare even when new, didn't they have a really restrictive import quota imposed upon them? I remember Motoring Which at the time recommended them along with the Nissan Micra as being ultra reliable!!

hello mingnut.... tried to sway nipper towards your car... he just laughed me outta the room  kids eh..who'd have em

Ivory body with brown interior and sun roof. Sound body (Waxoiled)

but some rust on door corners and rear valance corners. A few

niggles such as the headlining. New tyres, exhaust and rear brake

shoes and wheel cylinders. Taxed and MoT to March, £325.

Love your mini fleet, especially the all aggro! Am looking at a couple of VP's myself atm, nice one. Think ebay would slaughter your hopeful starlet price, they wont see the chintz value like us warped souls on here! 8)

Another Practical Classics stalwart* on the forum! Welcome, Neil :)

*Your avatar, location and love of beige gave it away

Glad to have you among us, good sir!

Mr Campbell, Thought I recognised that Starlet...you will recall I saw it in the flesh when I dropped off the big white 240 Torslanda to Sam at the workshop last month.

Welcome aboard!

I'v seen the Starlet in the flesh and it is a very very nice, clean example....were I not up to my scrotum in Yugo hell (electric issues atthe moment and skinned knuckles) it would be making its way up to Edinburgh ...5 gears!! luxury!

Hello Rich, nice to meet you too. I hope to buy some old tat from very soon, just like the old days. Still have fond memories of the XJ40 Daimler that Sam and i prised out of your hands.

I've seen the Maestro on the owners club forum and am trying to buy it, but i'd need to sell the Starlet first thanks to the 'unique' payment structure at my work...

No Takers? I thought someone here would be interested, i'd like to see it go to a good home rather than end up slammed on the deck with silly wheels, or rookie bangered into oblivion.

Got some respect in it the other day actually, a bloke in a white 1.2i J reg Nova SALOON in white with matching hubcaps nodded as i passed him on the A14. Anyone on here know who that was - it was a proper perverts car - i mean who bought a Nova with a boot? Can't be many of them around these days, i liked it a lot.

Howdy Neil! I always thought your wife was a woman of taste - how can she not like that gorgeous little Starlet? Sadly, I think it'd just dissolve here in Wales.

Could you pm me a number to call you on re the Starlet please Mingnut? My Sis in law is very much feeling the love :)

i'd have it in a flash if i had any cash - especially as i am carless as the yugo has developed a charging fault which is so far defeating me!

PM Sent, and yes Dollywobbler i thought Helen would like it too, but she don't. She's all loved up with her 35,000 mile 900, so quite rightly looks down her nose at the vastly inferior Oytota (yet brilliantly fuel efficent - 45 mpg and that's with me driving flat out like a loon - beat that Helen in your 3 speed auto Saab. No you can't can you? Bwahahahahahaha!)

i need more sleep...
