I almost refuse to believe that a place like that exists. It's like Eldorado but instead of being made of Gold it is made of shite.Cracking stuff. :D

Shame about the silver Ghia though, in good nick I think they're fantastic looking with the alloys etc.

I'd love to have that.. er... whole yard actually...Are the cars realistically priced?

Now this will become pic heavy (up to 99 pics) As I have been in a Leicestershire yard where some vehicles are for sale as projects-some broken for spares.

Ratlook hoodride etc Vw golf caddy.

I'd buy that, MOT it, Tax it and drive it......and not change it a bit

In one of the pictures parked in front of the old transit chassis cab is an old boxy shape Nissan Sunny. I need a pair of wings for mine, what condition are they in ? Also I need a couple of bonnet rubbers for my father in laws Capri 3.0, the round doomed ones that on the adjuster rod on the landing panel. If you can help out let me know.

I'd like to think that in this instance the tape around the windscreen means that a respray WAS planned but aborted at the last minute :?

Blimey - if there was ever a place for an AS Summer meet (post Bubble Car Museum) this has to be it??Loving all the old Fords and BMC types.

Read this topic twice over now, before work and as soon as I got back. I'm glad there's scrap yards like this were the cars are older and not many of them are chopped into pieces or squished within hours. I pass a few scrapyards on a regular train journey i make, and the ones near cities have fast turnover :(oh yes, please can i have all the cars and vans and trucks. thanks. :PStarting with the Capris, and the Marinas and Itals, but then I'd desire that holey Cortina GT, and a Granada or two. I'm very fond of old Fords and BMC. The two big Ford trucks are tempting (forgive me please, I'm not an expert on models ect, I just love styles and shapes and certain things.. I'd like to learn more but at the moment I'm too busy drooling)

Got any other pics of the Black Escort Mk3 Ghia in this shot?

Posted Image

This one is identical to a C-reg 1.6 I had years ago and it was as clean as this when I traded it in (only needed a new engine but I was a lazy sod at the time and couldn't be bothered  ).

It's also a shame neither of them Mk1 Cav's are roadworthy. I always fancied one in red, with rostyles of 2000GLS persuasion ... 8)

Wow, that's pretty smart, they look good in black. I like those wheels with the pie dish things in the centre...

Have you been back to this place since these photos were taken Rootes? Why can't scrap yards all be like this? It's wonderful and fascinating. *hugs all the cars*
