An infestation of bugs

When driving my traveller I thought it perfectly sized and suitable for today’s roads. That is until I took this shot with an SUV in front and a small family hatchback parked behind! The Citroen’s bumper seems to be about the same level as the travellers waistline. Interestingly the traveller could easily accommodate 5 people plus luggage for a family holiday back in the day and still could. Pretty much the same as both modern cars in this photo. The photo does highlight the vulnerability of the traveller compared to the modern vehicles both in front and rear impacts and especially side impacts. Sobering image.

It similarly highlights why I no longer enjoying driving my old sportscar during the winter months, despite the weather often being beautiful.  At nighttime that Citreon's headlamps, being so high, blare into my rear view mirrors.  Blinded by the light from behind its dangerous.

Its not the modern cars that are dangerous, its just that some of the drivers feel invulnerable and have no respect for other road users.

1950s car. You’ve got to expect a bit of corrosion.

Just a bit of patina. It'll go again.
