I'd love to post a few pictures of the R5 oilburner covered in snow.... but I can't as I'm in vietnam where the weather is a bit disappointing as it hasn't got over 30o.... often.......

I'm back in the UK next weekend and I'm really not looking forward to it!

Bestest snow here in for-evah! (we are only 3 miles from the sea, so don't get much of a look in with OMGSNOWCHAOS).

Gruff (the dog) has been running around doing impressions of Danniella Westbrook (snort, snort). I am struggling to sleep at the moment anyway so was able to provide Matt with updates every 2 hours about how it was still snowing and then making him get up and look outside. I'm sure he's thrilled he hasn't missed anything...

I feel left out again, Mind you according to the new we are meant to get a good covering tonight and through the weekend.

It snowed a little bit at work this afternoon (I hope that it doesn't do so at the weekend, as I'd rather not see a repeat of the hysteria the last lot caused), so during my lunch break, I took The Volvo to Lakeside Retail Park in order to conduct a little Brickhoonage around an almost empty car park (a surprising state of affairs, considering what time of year it is), which was great fun and allowed me to get a feel for driving a RWD car in the snow again.

The Volvo, somewhere in Thurrock, this afternoon:

Note the bumper-to-bumper traffic on the Dartford Bridge. Goes to show that even a quarter of an inch of snow can cause complete havoc in southern England

I was just thinking tonight what a great tool the Volvo (pictured a few days ago in this thread) is in the winter. Heated seats, washers that don't freeze easily even on pure water, decent heater, decent lights etc. If only is didn't get stuck so easily.

I find that TV2 is pretty much invincible in the snow, being a big heavy car with FWD, traction control, and ABS, but The Volvo is far nicer to drive in non-snowy winter conditions. Both cars' washer jets freeze-up far too readily, though.

Getting ready for a ride out tomorrow. That's going to be fun in this weather.

We've got fuck all here. The only snow is the remains of a fortnight ago.

Not only that, but I drove from Cumbernauld to Mansfield on Thursday afternoon/evening, not one single snowflake. It was that pleasant a drive that I sacked off the route suggested and headed over the A6/A623, across the moors.

We managed to avoid the most recent bout of travel chaos here in the south. Until today...

This picture was taken just before 10:15 and the snow has only been falling since about 07:30 or 08:00 ish. It's slowed down a bit now but still falling.
