Richard Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 I'm in Fort Worth for a wedding this week so naturally I took the opportunity to spot some stateside shitters. 022 by RichardB5, on FlickrNot shite but included to show just how big these trucks are. I haven't noticed any L200s but if I did there would be a girl driving. The next truck along is a girl's one. 026 by RichardB5, on FlickrA bit of patina. 028 by RichardB5, on FlickrLeonard Hatred tagged this as a rape van. I bow to his superior knowledge on such matters. 032 by RichardB5, on FlickrMean looking truck. Not sure what's going on with the bonnet. 035 by RichardB5, on FlickrI think the owner of this might have failed to keep it in his pants. 031 by RichardB5, on FlickrI've been asked if this is a Cavalier. I don't know. Do you? 042 by RichardB5, on FlickrYeah yeah, another truck. 054 by RichardB5, on FlickrSchool bus in Dallas. I'm intrigued by the rear overhang on these. As I took the picture I heard Otto tell the kids to sit down at the back. 034 by RichardB5, on FlickrThe reason I went to Dallas. I'm not that interested in the whole JFK phenomonen but you can't be that close and not go for a look. Taken from the grassy knoll and the book depository is on the left, with the sixth floor window not quite visible. There is an X on the road to mark the spot.
Guest Leonard Hatred Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 It's a Chevrolet Cavalier, Sane_Richard
Guest EccentricRichard Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 It's a Chevrolet Cavalier, Sane_Richard Ah, Sane Richard to distinguish him from me? My first reaction was "It's a 90s Saturn", but then I saw the Chevy badge on the bonnet (sorry, hood)...
Richard Posted November 4, 2010 Author Posted November 4, 2010 Some more. 064 by RichardB5, on Flickr A car park full of police cars, there were actually a lot more than you see here. Everywhere we ate there was at least one cop, sometimes several. I was told that means it's a good place to eat. 040 by RichardB5, on Flickr Out transport for the week, they call it a Frontier, we call it a Navara. The owner is just visible on the left. She made it absolutely clear that this is a girl's truck and a man would never be seen driving one- something to drop into conversation next time you encounter someone who thinks his Navara is a four-wheeled pitbull. 041 by RichardB5, on Flickr 043 by RichardB5, on Flickr There was a shop selling these horns for $90. I wanted a set for the Volvo but I wasn't sure I'd be allowed them as hand baggage. DSC_2982 by RichardB5, on Flickr School bus going to South Park. OMG, they killed Kenny etc. DSC_2863 by RichardB5, on Flickr Trainshite. They ding constantly when they are on the move and give long continuous blasts on the horn when approaching pretty much anything- just like in the movies. DSC_2870 by RichardB5, on Flickr CNG powered bus. The contraption on the front is a fold-down bike rack. GR0.5 4 pedestrian safety. The owner restored it himself and has several other VW projects on the go. He isn't a fan of ratlook.
Guest Leonard Hatred Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 I hope you were serious about fixing bull horns to your Volvo.
flat4alfa Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Elk horns. You want Elk horns on a Volvo.Or so I heard. This lovely Chev needs further zoomage Any idea what the flag is about? T for Texas wot?
Mr_Bo11ox Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 That school bus is mental, I wonder if all the kids ran to the back and started jumping up and down in unison they could get the front wheels off the ground while driving round town, its gotta be worth a try.
Station Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Any idea what the flag is about? T for Texas wot? Looks like Tennants Lager logo.
Richard Posted November 4, 2010 Author Posted November 4, 2010 It's not Tennents, you can get Boddingtons and Belhaven there but not Tennents. It will be advertising some eatery I expect. I think I got another truck like that, I'll see if I can crop it to acceptable zoomage. (just checked, it wasn't a truck but I'll post it anyway) All the school buses seem to have that overhang. They probably couldn't get the wheels right off the ground but they could unsettle it quite a bit I'm sure. Here is the Beetle owner and the happy couple. Obviously the grins are mostly because of how they are planning to fill the rest of the day but the car must be making some contribution. The bride is the owner of the Nissan Frontier. flat4alfa Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Beetle's nice, but it's not every day you see a smart ~1940 Ford pass by with its hood off !!
