Actually, it's good to know that the mass mail out worked (at least to some degree) 'cause I didn't even get one myself, so wasn't sure if it had actually worked or not, so did it again, hence some people getting two.

 

I guess ones that didn't get them maybe now have different emails addresses to the ones they originally registered with, or maybe just have spam filters that decided they didn't like the look of an email addressed to so many people.

I had a flash of inspiration as to what my password might be, and have now managed to log back in under my old name. It was confusing having a different ID for a few days.

I was one one the ones who found their password didn't work, and I had to get a new one sent to my registered address. Could there be a lot of members up shit creek with no password and no email to send one to?

Unfortunately, theres just no way of knowing which users, or even how many users were affected by password corruption, as all passwords are stored in a custom secure hash format, so they are all heavily scrambled.

 

Likewise, only users will know if their registered email address is up to date or not.

 

I'm hoping that most lost souls will find their way back home eventually. Traffic stats are only about 10% down on normal daily usage from before the upgrade, so I don't think we're doing too bad.
