Hello and welcome!

That H plate Montego looks well tidy, but i fear for your sanity owning that many of them!

Welcome! Been there myself, so well done for gathering all those together. The Rover will be Targa Red, won't it? I remember thinking how dowdy that colour looked when Flame appeared for 1989, as seen on your MGs... But talking of dowdy!

Welcome along, some nice cars you have there.

The red one looks a peach!

If I saw a Montego in the street I'd stop and have a good look round! I wouldn't have said that even five years ago!! They've really grown on me!!

That's pretty considerate. Hope your neighbours don't think all car enthusiasts are like you!

A big welcome to you and your Austin Rovers. I like the look of UKY (say it in a Welsh accent) the Estate. That red A plate Maestro must be the ultra rare 1600 S series, with the talking dash?

Can we have some more pictures of your Mk1 200, please? 8)

The Rover looks pretty good on those later rims!

I've previously owned a Maestro too, back in 2005. Here it is, oddly photographed in front of a graveyard.

Great car, but had holes in the boot floor and is now no longer on the DVLA database.

I do like Montegos and Maestros, I remember driving hundreds of them when they were new.

I'll raise you a Montegos nemesis:

Thanks Trigger, but I think that your newly acquired 'Tooty Fruity'* is in a league above.

I saw a Montego in Ipswich the other week. I did have the rather dubious honour of getting shunted by a Montego estate. I was turning right in a Peugeot 106 and had stopped for oncoming traffic, unfortunately my work colleague behind in the Montego didn't quite manage to come to a complete stop until he hit me.

(* think of a confection before it was renamed Starburst.)

Poor Montego :-( was it a customers car?.

(P.s i was thinking of the Kadett of being more like a Opel Fruit :) )

They're Starbursts now, it's political correctness gone mad.

you carnt beat the mg montego

i had to many i could count and all got wrap around something,a cortina running gear with a shite shell, bring back the old corty.

i can remember breaking down with my mk3 cortina with a cambelt snapped so i walked around 1/2 mile to the nearest spare shop in plumstead got a cambelt and replace the one that snapped timed it up with a small toolkit i always kept in my boot and drove home  thats old skool cars.

now if had the cash to buy a mg monty in the 90's i would of but sierra's i could buy from any scrap yard or the local papers for around £100-£150 back in the 90's for a mk1.

i had 4 or five sierra's when i was living at laysdown and when i moved up north i had two of the mk2 ghia's and they was one rot box on wheels like the escorts.

all the mid 80's to 90's where rust bucket due to the steel
