Agreed, and good to see an update from you EL!'Family jewel' Jaguar looks rather nice, presumably safekeeping doesn't involve your custody of it in Shoreditch?...

Incredible selection there! Impossible to pick favourites such is the quality, I need to live somewhere where more of this quality of shite survives!

Loveley selection EL :D I don't think any of those are familiar to me. That Minor has been Marina-ised going by the front wheels. Bedford ice cream van/cocktail bar is top drawer!A good freind had an SVX a few years ago. I had a couple of rides in it. Seemed fine and full of toys! But then all moderns feel like that to me...SD1 Snowplow was a feature of the later Vitesses to homologate the spoiler for BTCC.

Great Update!Loads of Renault 4's, I have a strong yearning for one of these. Shame they seem to be so expensive these days. Fiat 127 Palio is fantastic! Reminds me of one I had years ago.

That Renault 25 is great too. Never seen one before.

Great selection there EL. I just can't believe you all keep findin' 'em!

No space round these parts to park a skateboard, but I do need to move it down south in the coming months and store it someplace

Looks like it would have lots. Its a bit of a wierd one the SVX, especially when you see one from the rear quarter view. I love them, nice and rare with novelty value.

Time for an update from Autoshite London HQ:

Posted Image

How's about this then? Being a bit old fashioned, I'm only now finally coming round to the idea of being interesting in early Fiestas.

Posted Image

Nearby was this, a stainless steel mobile kitchen.

Posted Image

Not seen an Acclaim for a while, here's one ...

Posted Image

Nice to see a shabby specimen of this Pininfarina Peugeot 504...

Posted Image

Let's go spotting now, everybody's learnin' how, come on a Safari with me.

Posted Image

Posted Image

Near the DS Safari was this CX with rather fetchingly alloys, which works for me, one of 3 I saw within half an hour of each other that day!

Posted Image

It was around the corner from this BMW

Posted Image

I think this was on Polish plates....

Posted Image

Later that night ..... Audi 80

Posted Image

And this funny little thing in a disabled zone in Tesco's Stevenage. You've got to admit, any tiny electric car of today will be very highly celebrated in Autoshite circles in 2040....

Posted Image

Posted

If Autoshite did weekly pub meetings ...

Posted Image

Good to see a BX Estate still knocking about..

Posted Image

Rare to see a non-black Traction Avant...

Posted Image

Very promising indeed. A car born as future Autoshite, and at last I find one that's really getting shabby. As was written in the prophecy. Honda Insight.

Posted Image

Stevenage period shot!

Posted Image

This Viva belongs to one of the students at the new 6th form college thats opened in an industrial unit. It sticks out in the sea of mofidied Corsas.

Posted Image

Snow shot of my Audi. Nearly got this thing back on the road now, it's required for some filming work ...

Posted Image

Future shite

Posted Image

Went to France last week for work, a very short trip, spotted the following in the Marseilles/Aix-en-Provence area:

First at night ...

Posted Image

Posted Image

But then a Renault dawn broke ....

Posted Image

Posted Image

What's going on here?

Posted Image

Future shite again

Posted Image

Busted!!

Posted Image

Porsche Ritmo

Posted Image

????

Posted Image

old Pug pickup

Posted Image

And last but not least, Talbot Samba!

Posted Image

Au revoir!

Posted

I've beaten you to that M535  Branching a bit more westwards in your London spots. Chalk Farm indeed!

Posted

I think that St.Evenage Viva lives close-ish to me. What on earth is the mercedes (pic #2), not standard surely - totally hideous. And have you spotted some french IT workers/estate agents on a whacky chazza rally? Probably ditched at luton airport now...

Porsche Ritmo

This i want soo much.

When my fossils bought a new Ibiza 1.2 L in '88 my old man opted for the Seat By System Porsche Logos down the side..

Uber school pick up kudos..

and the Ritmo is of course the Seat version :)Loving the building-shite!

No one else has commented on it, so I guess I'm imagining it, but that CX looks stretched to me. Did they all have such long rear doors?

Posted

My knowledge of French cars is minimal but I think its along wheelbase "executive" model or something? The one near me is that long too.

Well spotted, means it's a Prestige, pretty much lik ethe difference between a Merc S Class Se and an SEL

Honecker had one:
Dictator-tastic!

That Viva is class, I'd love that. An HB is definitely on my shortlist for when I'm next car-hunting.Don't like the white Traction Avant that much, looks too wedding-y. I think maybe a dark red would be my colour of choice...

Posted

Magnificent spots! That fugly Merc looks like a Gerry Anderson creation ...

Good to learn I wasn't imagining it after all! How common were they?

I've seen a couple of those Mercs around town. Are they a factory option or an AMG creation or other aftermarket? Anyone know?
