Metallic doom blue is Ferrari's best colour.

The so-called high-end SUVs we've been seeing in this thread are SO depressing!  I mean, Aston Martin and Rolls Royce, bad enough, but Lotus???  Colin Chapman must be doing 9000rpm in his grave!  That thing is the polar opposite of everything he tried to do.  They are also, I'm certain, the opposite of Autoshite, if we still use Shite in any sort of fond, tolerant way.  About the only thing worse would be no cars at all.

Whilst I agree to a degree about Chapman being surprised , is it really that much different to the Lotus Cortina, Carlton, Isuzu Bighorn and anything else Chapman and his successors have had to do to keep the company alive. Above all Chapman was a businessman and if the money was all coming from China with electric motors attached he’d be at the front of the queue.

Also those super SUVs will eventually filter down to Autoshite, look at the number of Range Rovers, Cayennes and MLs that have been a regular part of the forum for years now. Not to mention the  Bentley and Ferrari owners on here.

I am a bit of an apologist for these sort of cars , mainly because I’ve driven a lot through my job. They really are the best of all Worlds when it comes to comfort, speed, luxury and even, surprisingly, driver enjoyment. Whilst I wouldn’t spend the money for a new one( and £200k is just the start, a Bentayga I drive regularly just cost £268,000 after a couple of options and that was’just’ a V8 as the W12 is sadly no more) a £60k Bentayga or £85k DBX would be a lot more appealing than a new BMW, Audi or Kia for the same money. Subject to a Lottery win , of course.

There's a company in Indiana that makes replicas of the 1966 Batmobile for about $300k. If you're going to blow your money on something daft, do it with style. 😛

Volvo 240 estate but upgraded with a good dual-zone climate control system and a slight tickle on power.  Then some manner of T5 850 or V70 with all the options.  The perfect two car garage.

THIS.  Without a second thought.  This car is single-handedly responsible for my enduring love of American cars.

I’d want it to have real atomic batteries at that price.

Poor imitations those things (mind you this one isn't original either but it is from 1966)
GBP £225,000 (ish)

Pretty sure that's one built by the company in Indiana, they're built on the chassis of a 70s Lincoln Town car because it had the correct wheebase. Looks like they hold their value better than any modern Aston Martin. too.

I'd be more put off by the tide mark, pretty sure the sills should be body colour.
