calebaaront Posted October 14 Author Posted October 14 Looks we’re off the road for a moment! The carb has decided to spring a leak, it seems to be coming out the this bit, looks like I’m going to have to find a new diaphragm for it but not sure where to get one. Any suggestions? It squirts out whenever the throttle is applied N Dentressangle 1

I bought a rebuilt one off him the best part of 15 years ago and it's still working perfectly, he sells parts as well. https://rage-keveronderdelen.nl/product-categorie/carburateurs/ calebaaront, N Dentressangle, Joey spud and 1 other 3 1

N Dentressangle Posted October 15 Posted October 15 Yeah, that'll be the diaphragm in the accelerator pump. You can probably still find the diaphragm for sale on its own if you're saving the pennies, or this kit's a bit cheaper and looks like it will fit: https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/1527124024 Increasing amounts of ethanol in modern fuel won't be helping. dozeydustman Posted October 16 Posted October 16 @calebaaront I run mine on Super. It’s much happier, pulls better and best of all no pinking - even when timed up right it pinks in E10. Averages 36mph on my way to work on super, and 28 on E10. And needs the choke out for less time. Matty and calebaaront 2

When I filled up the other day, I put E5 from Texaco in the tank, I think what’s caused the diaphragm to fail is that the car was sat for awhile N Dentressangle 1
calebaaront Posted October 16 Author Posted October 16 Just purchased a carb kit! Hopefully it doesn’t take too long to arrive Drive, Wibble, JMotor and 3 others 6
calebaaront Posted October 18 Author Posted October 18 Limped it to my lockup last night as I’m off to The Netherlands in the morning. The fuel guage has magically started working again! calebaaront Posted Sunday at 13:21 Author Posted Sunday at 13:21 I was made aware by a friend that Silverlake Breakers had a 205 so I thought I’d go check it out and try and see if there was any parts left on it that I could make use of. Unfortunately it was pretty stripped! It was also a diesel so none of the mechanical parts were of use to me. I did spot some other chod here though! A nice Vectra for @AnnoyingPentium which still had most of the interior! Also a 106 and a Civic/Accord Wagon. Stinkwheel, Brigsy, Fat_Pirate and 7 others 10
AnnoyingPentium Posted Sunday at 13:52 Posted Sunday at 13:52 Nice one. Looks like a runout 1.8 hatch. calebaaront 1
dozeydustman Posted Sunday at 15:26 Posted Sunday at 15:26 I might have to contact silverlake and see how much they want for the seats in the red 205 if they are any good. The ones in mine are shot. calebaaront 1

The ones in mine are shot. They had neat seat covers, not sure if they were original or not. The passenger window was missing though so the interior was quite soggy.

That looks comfy! I’m assuming they bolt straight in? Also @dozeydustman the 106 had nice seats I’m not sure if they’d fit though
loserone Posted Sunday at 21:53 Posted Sunday at 21:53 1 minute ago, calebaaront said: assuming they bolt straight in? No, the rails are about an inch further apart, but the seats do fit in the space. They're a bit higher but I'm a short arse and I like sitting high. My floor had a nice hole in (see my thread) so when I welded it up I put new holes in for the seats from my old 206 gti. Going to fit the other one soon. @dozeydustman happy to post the pair off on a pallet if you wanted them, if you can cover the shipping. Was about £80 when Amelia posted the rear bench for the express up here.

dozeydustman Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago To be fair I have considered, if I can find a pattern, retrimming the seats myself with a tougher material. If it was a blue car I’d even consider a but of British Rail Trojan. @loserone if I cannot find anything a little More local I’ll consider your seats!
