I rang up about this low mileage baby last night and was told the scrap man was coming this morning

only 40k, no MOT or tax, mobilised this morning, got it picked up, now being MOT'd, still not seen it, apparently it's a cracker! It will live again!

Top bombing!

Cracking little cars these - top Johnny! Well saved.

Excellent, well done.

One car I always wanted to own yet never have.

It's MOT'd! Still haven't seen it though!

It was on car & classic for ages with no interest, amazingly I got in at the last minute before the scrappy arrived. Having a cam belt done Monday then off to Europe in it in August!

Please tell me you paid scrap money for it, it would be perfect then!

Posted

No, I paid £0

What...? No discount off that?

Seriously, that's incredible. A great save and full credit to you! I've always wanted an Accliam too and have always evaded me so far.

With only 40k on the clock (and now MOT'd), seemingly it's been garaged for most of it's life, I don't think it would take much work to get it to near-show standards.

AN ACCRAIM! Brilliant save!

8) Too cool for school.

Free is the best price. Was the scrappie not gonna pay for it then?

No, the guy was selling his Mothers house and he needed it gone!

Posted

I hate you. I would have had it for nowt, looks a nice tidy car.

They have always been pretty highly regarded (was going to say acclaimed, groan) so sounds like you've got a good'un, well done! :D

Yeh, I do like a Honda acclaim too....

That's a triumphant save!

Now MOT'd & Taxed, new oil & cambelt, water pump is a little noisy so working that out but it drives beautifully, needs a good buffing!

There is, or was, one very abandoned looking near Mouldsworth, Cheshire a year or so ago. Pm me if you want details.
