Some with know me as a serial p38 sufferer..

However I have had a deep seated obsession with Jaguars since I was a kid, around 2002-2006 Dad had an old XJ40 when I was a lad and I loved it.

Hated it when she was sold, I was only 5 mind you but the car made an impact that I never forgot..

Fast forward 20yrs at 24yrs I now own my own X300 a 1997 XJ6 sovererign LWB 4.0.

Love it to death, possibly the prettiest saloon ever made. with the proper big 6.

It's still odd to me how cheep the X300 and X308 Jags are. I know they like to rot and I guess the sheer number of bad ones drag the prices down. If you can find a clean one though you get a fairly easy to work on, very stylish car for not a lot of money.

I agree I looked at several before buying this one, every single one was rotten or had the paint peeling off or in most cases a bit of both.

Shame as they're lovely cars to drive.

Misread the title, thought it would be a Series 1. Enjoy, tho

That looks like a wonderful place to sit and conduct yourself through the riff-raff. 😛
I loved my old XJ40. There's an inherent smoothness about a big straight six that you don't get with any other engine, I far prefer them to the V8s.

it is a wonderfully comfortable place to sit quiet and rides like nothing else. :) the big 6 is lovely too.

Managed to get the old girl under cover and give the paintwork a good going over..

I won't bore you all with the details, but I do like a clean shiny car :)

few hours of polishing with a dual action polisher "DA" we have the results.

I've got all the oils coming for this later in the week so shes getting a full/complete service, the underbody is also going to get the full dinitol treatment.

:)

I'd love nothing more but to drive this car but the weather is shit and salt on the roads is horrendous... ;)

So i'm just titivating it at the moment :)
