Thanks to a very nice chap! I now have the Espace of many wants.

Drives superb, just showed the wife and she likes it a lot as do the kids!

Very happy indeed!

@Ohdearmeis a top bloke!

Thanks!

I do hope you enjoy it, it’s one of those cars that is very hard to justify swapping out.

I dare say it’s quite good fun to drive too, lovely torque waft, great for the long holiday drives…giant glass area in 25 degree weather, not so much 😂

Au Revoir Ladybug (as kids called it)

How stinky is it?

Must admit I'd have bought it twice were it not for that

Maybe my wife is just a nasally challenged snob 🤣 and it was imagined.

I steam cleaned all the seats a while ago and febrezed them too and I didn’t really notice any smell.

I think my fave espace was the generation before but I do think for a 16/17 year old design, this has held up really well.

Glad you’re enjoying it.

Looking forward to getting it to Wales next week, Chester Zoo stop off, then down to Porthcawl.

Being a later one it should be more solid electrically? By then the lag 3 was out and it was mostly Nissan, and other similar aged Renaults weren't as terrible 🤞

Looks mega comfy!

I’ve not come across any leccy gremlins as yet! And it drives lovely! The odd time it will throw up key not recognised but reinsert it and it grabs it!

Yeah, a pull and re-entry sorts that.

No obvious reason for it.

I imagine the interior has been toasty warm in this relentless heat 🤣.

Not sure what happened to this image lol.... ill retake it tomorrow, but I think the distance was 160 miles (reset the trip after filling up). 1 bar of fuel used.

Wales bound tomorrow, Cardiff on Sunday to meet family.

It’s the refresh rate of the LCD, you have to take a few snaps and one of them will catch the refresh perfectly…

Made it to Wales - just under 400 miles on the trip.

No major issues to report, other than the brakes are vibrating when under heavy braking.
Not sure what it could be, plenty of meat in the pads and discs and they’ve not long been done all round. They have started squeaking a bit but not all the time. Pedal is still nice and sharp. If anything alarming happens…I’ll call AutoAid.

Parked up for the night now :)

Uh oh, best check the CV joint on drivers side, I’ve just noticed a type of oily grease on the drivers door:

CV seems fine, might have been something chucked up off the road. Will monitor.

Have checked brakes can’t see anything inherently wrong, it’ll be right. Will get it into the garage when we get back.

Saw a Mk1 today, very innovative car for its time. I can’t get Shipman out if my head when i see them though
