MrSteve Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Thought I'd give a friend's new forum a bit of help. If you fancy ogling at pics of these french beauties, as well as east european delights like the Oltcit, then click away... http://www.visaforum.freeforums.org/index.php
pogweasel Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 I would have thought that there wouldn't be enough perverted weirdos to support a whole Visa forum, appears I am wrong. Good stuff though, as a C15 is deffo on my shopping list.
Volksy Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 I'd love a Visa Super X Sadly I doubt that there are any left
saabhappy Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Sadly I doubt that there are any leftA bit like the dodo - we know they existed once upon a time, but they're not missed...
Volksy Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 but they're not missed... I dunno, I think they would be quite a practical little car.
Mr Lobster Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 I'm a bit surprised there are enough people to populate a forum on Citroen Visas. Good that they are though as they are ace! I'd suspect that the Visa GTi is also extinct now, probably sacrificed so that 205 GTis could live?
saabhappy Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 I'm afraid small Citroens don't do anything for me, but medium to large ones are cracking cars IMHO.
dollywobbler Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 A little French car forum would be ace! Saabhappy - it's quite apparent that you don't like small Citroens. There's no need to keep repeating it, or enjoying telling folk that you think the cars they like a crap.

Meh.
MrRegieRitmo Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 I don't own any Citroen, nor ever have so don't suppose I have any business registering, but I certainly like some of the models from the 70s / 80s so happy to browse through it!

Milford Cubicle Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 I wonder how crash-worthy these old small Citroens are.
saabhappy Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 I like plenty of Citroens from Traction Avants to DS, CX, XM, SM, BX et al. I didn't realise that the small ones had a restriction order on them banning any criticism. Strange that other marques aren't similarly respected. The smallest Citroen I've ever liked/driven was the GS which was different but had some style. I don't like small Renaults either, but was very happy with my own 21. I much prefer Minis, Imps to the French equivalent, and I base what I say on the fact that several of my students drove small Citroens and the handling made me car-sick without fail, the Renault 5 a lady friend and I shared was clonky and uncomfortable and the Peugeot 104ZS I bought from a friend because I desperately needed a cheap small car was for 2 years the most unreliable piece of kit I've ever owned. If the French car manufacturer could make something simple complicated he generally did, as anyone who has changed a brake light bulb on a Renault 21 will tell you.
saabhappy Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 I wonder how crash-worthy these old small Citroens are.Who cares? I won't be in one.
Volksy Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Pog, thanks to that picture of Vic and Bob, my Monitor is now covered in Coffee.. Good call!
Mr_Bo11ox Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Surely sharing a renner 5 with a ladyfriend would normally aid in the appreciation of its finer points - spacious cabin, powerful heater, robust towing capability etc etc
The Liberator Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 I would love a Visa!Me too, used to have a Visa Special, but a B reg, so with the later 're-styling'.Next time round, an early Club in a suitable colour - that green one with the apples all over it would do nicely.
brammy777 Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Amazingly theres a Visa still going strong in Hook, a diesel one and its owned by a little old lady. Somewhat incredible that it didnt get traded in for a new car, its in top condition too.
MrSteve Posted May 17, 2010 Author Posted May 17, 2010 The diesels are quite reliable- there were quite a few Visas at Citromobile in the Netherlands, including this diesel and Gti combo from the UK.

brammy777 Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Hahah.I got a poor shot of it during the winter, surrounded by snow. Its seemingly only about on Fridays, r.welfare may have seen it?
r.welfare Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Yes, I saw it a couple of weeks ago. It's red, a 17RD (so 5-speed, and apparently less economical than the 4-speed 17D) and a D-reg, I think? It did look pretty clean as it drove past me on the A30 while I took a lunchtime stroll.
Minimad5 Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Pog, thanks to that picture of Vic and Bob, my Monitor is now covered in Coffee.. Good call! Agree'd sir .
saabhappy Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 I have a medium sized Citroen.It's not very good.Awwww, bless!
