Hey. I'm knackered now. I was up at 5.35 and all that. And I can't get SCTSH_ANDY's Saab back into its space because the steering lock has applied itself. Shitcakes.

Nice to have seen everyone again, and to have met Minimad5 in person. I will improve the Amazon brakes the next time you feel like getting a lift :D

Best quote:

Me: Have you got Jean Michel Jarre on there mate?

Pete-M: Fuck you, it's the 80's!

For Fred. This towered over everything except Bolton Pete's Commer and the Dodge Rams.

Did not expect to see one of these in a sea of knackered Spitfires and Beetles.

We then partook luncheon, and I was able to deploy my OMG YO SCENE secret weapon, the LANCASHIRE PLASTICS CAR TRAY (LOL). It was also used to point at the rather obvious model Pete had purchased himself:

Here's the car that should have won the 90's Pageant. Then left in gear, started and used to inexplicably mow down Captain Twatface (Compere).

I *think* this was Saabhappy's, but he was having a siesta when I bobbed round to say hello in my unfortunate style. I left him to it and when I went back he was gone.

Fab photos yet again Wat!, Make's my point and shoot ones look gash!.Looks like a great show, At least you had the decent weather, The one i went to every one started to bugger of home at 12.30 as it looked like it was going to rain although it didn't, Just looked like it.

I got a few pics, sadly though my phone is broken so the camera only works now and again. :(. great day out though!, some great sights - especially the 'autoshite special' - Beige Triumph Acclaim!

Show I went to today was dark and grey all afternoon, but no rain. Bloody freezing however.Great photos! Id love to try out some arty shots, but they always come out gash.

Great pic's Jon ! :D That picture of pete is class :lol:Thanks for the Lift to the show :D And the offer to drive the Amazon out of the grounds, maybe next time.

The Saab is mine, but the bloke having the siesta was my mate, Roy, who lives next door...and he's 82!

Posted

Excellent pics, looks like a good show. Bit gutted that I couldn't make it :(

Great photos there. That Commer box is just fantastic, patina-perfect and everything that I like in a classic commercial :) Is it still used for heavy horse hauling, or is it now human habitation with that French widow in every room

you have a thing for mid-90s pre-facelift Meganes Wat ? :?

It's part way through a camper conversion. With the size of it, it'll probably end up bigger than some people's houses!!

The Commer is unbelievably quiet !It tickes over sweeter than a fist of sugar.I quote from Pete-M"Yeah Man" (In a reggae / local voice)Can't wait to see it finished though, the guy has some good ideas for it.

Quality photos, spotted the 'cake and tea stand' box on your parcel shelf. Wish I'd a) got there earlier, B) stayed for longer. Was a friendly crowd, was expecting a horrible, muddy field, CC is a really nice environment. Are there any more localish shows coming up?

Posted

GR11 pixx Wat, loks like a good day out. Still yet to see a picture of Pete where he isn't grinning like a maniac though.

The picture i took of Jon with his "scram" on that shelf makes me laugh :D Bless him.As for local shows, there is Tatton Park which is full of the same stuff, but fingers crossed they might get something new.

Wouldn't expect so. Thats the problem with Tatton Park - same cars year in, year out generally. Plus it costs about a hundredbillionmillion pounds to get in for a wander around. So I don't bother.

Thanks for the warm welcome and hospitality from all of you guys! I hope we can have a proper summer get together somewhere handy for all of us.

For those who are 'oop North, what about the British Commercial Vehicle Museum. Its on tvin the next day or so - http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00scr08 as apparently its struggling a bit but it looks like an interestingish place to visit and might be good for a meet?
Posted

Hey that looks ace Mr Lob On. Maybe we can sort a date/time?

Posted

How about a two day Autoshite get together? Somewhere with camping facilities and handy for a family friendly tourist attraction like Alton Towers. Although only some of us would be able to stay for the two days but plenty woul be able to make it up for either the first or second day. Camping pitches would be useful for anyone attending from the South or our Caledonian shiters who would otherwise miss out.

I'm stopping bothering for this very reason. It isn't as good or as cheap as Cholmondeley.
