Blimey, I'm surprised she doesn't want applicants to be CRB checked as well!

so have you replied then?loads of these cars turn-up on freecycle, usually on the first week of the outdated tax - owners just want rid, but dont want a hi-ab arriving in their street

I am not allowed any more cars ! Otherwise would have written a wonderful essay explaining why it is worth it

I got a very nice Volvo 240 off freecycle, and gave away the incredibly rusty Opel Kadett I'd stupidly bought, after I'd whipped all the saleable bits off it. Mrs_Pog & I often enjoy whiling away an evening reading the pathetic sob-stories you get on there... oh how sad that you are a single mother on benefits and you can't afford this and that, as you sit on your white leather sofa typing your begging letter on your MacBook whilst watching your 64in Plasma telly in your subsidised housing. Often when we are giving stuff away will select a recipient based on the quality of their response - basically anyone who has a terrible sob-story or writes in unintelligible txt_spk or similar is guaranteed not to get it. Boo-hoo.

There seems to be a majority of 'Wanteds' on there. There are a shocking amount of people requested PS3's and Xbox's - for free!

I remember seeing a Cavalier MK 3 offered on freecycle located in Llangollen, Id have taken it but someone had beaten me to it.Usually forget about the site, but should really keep trawling it to see if anyone is getting rid of any Escort MK 4's and Orions considering that some people think I plan on saving every last surving model! ha!

My local one has had a lot of wanted posts lately, mostly for laptops and golf clubs. There was a 1995 Peugeot 205 diesel on there a few weeks back for free, it was still moted and just needed a clutch as it dragged a bit according to the bloke, was gutted i missed it.

I gave away a Fiat 126 and a Maxi on freecycle once, more hassle than anything, ever! In the end, I had a message that made me lol and the sender of that got the cars, but the number of fookin' scroungin' arsewipes who wanted full service histories, top of the range radios and new premium-brand tyres.... Bastards!

The bloke who got the cars, well, "car and a half" may be more accurate since the Maxi had no power unit, no subframe and no bottles... ....was honest enough to admit that he was a tight bastard, pure and simple, and I can relate to that.

Tip:

If you want to annoy someone who has disrespected you enormously and you know what car(s) they own, no need to continue this sentence methinks.

On that subject, there is somebody spamming a cortina give away on Gumtree. Hilarious to the poster, annoying to the owner, but think about the huNdreds of people getting their hopes up and wasting time calling, ME INCLUDED!

Someone locally wants a lady shaver. I'm not sure whether that's a razor or a job :D

I did the same...... I awarded points based on the following criteriaUse of (correct) punctuation. Some sign that they had read the advert.Lack of mention of benefits, young children, or wayward partner.Correct formatting of email with some attempt at being polite.Spelling.Out of 27 emails for a nearly-new fridge, I'd only entertain two of them at all so I raced them, first one to be able to collect got it. I actually got abuse from a single mum who accused me of being racist (?!) when I mass-responded to all the FAILS saying they hadn't got it.

I've largely given up on freecycle for getting rid of my old kit as I found that the majority of people who turned up would be in an estate car full of old shit, clearly loaded up for the next boot sale. I think the only thing I've ever given away on there that I am convinced went to a good home was the Mondeo back box given away to the chap who rocked up in a multi-coloured gaffer tape spec mk1 that sounded like a tank.He did ask whether I'd mind fitting it for him though, the cheeky twat.

Right on the money. Put a bit of stuff on there and some of the fuckers are so bad mannered it's unreal.I also ignore mails of the ones who request the same (expensive/fancy) things week after week and are blatantly taking the piss.

I got a W-reg Fiat Seicento off Freecycle - needed a £5 fix and also a Kawata scooter. But then I've also given away a lot - and yes, there's lots of 'car-booters' on there. Most people have been OK though.

I gave away a load of mint Allegro wheels and tyres on there a while ago. I got bombarded with one sentence replies like "ILL HV IT MATE". Do all these people own allegros or maxis? No they do not. I tried to freecycle some other stuff and got exactly the same response from the same bunch of dimwits.I got a nice reply from a lass who was trying to get her VP M.O.Td so she was the lucky freecycler to get them in the end. Although she took months and months to collect. She was a 20'something hottie though so it was O.K. Last time I use freecycle EVAR.Almost all of the Stoke freecycle ads are wanted ones from the same people. PS3/FLATSCREEN TELLY/ NEW WASHING MACHINE WANTED e.t.c

Not unless "Allegro" is another way of saying "Transit pickup loaded up with old washing machines ready for the weighbridge".Anything metal on freecycle - weighbridge.Anything technological - Cash ConvertersAny white goods - eBayAny toys, games, clothing - car boot.I sincerely believe less than a quarter of all Freecycle stuff ends up being used by the person who collects it. But I guess nobody's really losing out, you still get rid of clutter and if they want to take the risk and time to sell it on, they get the cash. I could have eBayed my fridge but really couldn't be bothered to arrange courier, get photos, do the listing etc etc for £20 or whatever.

Off to collect some stuff on Freecycle today as it 'appens. Want to turn our shit backyard in to something with a bit more colour so have requested some plant pots etc.A couple of years back some cheeky twat was always asking for old metal to 'recycle and save the earth' and blatted on about being green by collecting as much as he could in one journey. I asked him how much he was getting for it and where he weighed it in. He then disappeared.

I don't think it's wrong to sell on Freecycle "stuff" per se, one man's tat is another man's treasure... it's the twunts who spam it full of wants for items that every fule know has value that spoil it. I obvioulsy punted on the Freecycle Volvo, it made £700 on the bay, but I'd had to put a (not very large) amount of effort into turning it from garden ornament to MoT'd milemuncher. I also asked for an 'old car roofrack', and got 3 responses from old giffers who had them cluttering up their garages, as the rack from their 1973 Allegro won't go on their 2004 Rover 25... Instant eBay win "ROOF RACK RATLUK HOODRIDE RETRO" etc, and got £50-100 for each one. I've acquired loads of useful workshop stuff off there though, trolley jacks, axle stands, socket sets, timing gun etc etc, all old but perfectly servicable, and always from old gits who can't do their own servicing on their new cars. :)

I didnt know old gits could work TEH INENETZ!

Maybe im not using freecycle to the best of its ability. Ive never posted a wanted ad, as I wanted to give some stuff away before I started to ask for anything. Wanted, old tools plz
