Not had anything like that yet, just tea and biscuits. Maybe that's next month 😆

Shite luck with the Kenari though timely win with the pug and great way to get to know a new car.

National Trust sticker would work well. The two vehicles are a good contrast.

Yeah, but it’s not about WHEN you have the tea and biscuits, more WHAT they put in the tea and biscuits because when you get home….. 🥵🫠👉👈

Well I wish you better luck than I had with Amdram 45 years ago; supposedly a veritable hotbed.  Still waiting.

Proper cars always look tiny among these 21st century blobs.

My daughter was hit by a biker lane splitting through moving traffic on the A12, he didn't come off but claimed he had hurt his foot(looked like his boot was trapped between the car and bike) She called the Police, when he saw them coming he scarperred. Police said he would have torn him off a strip for driving dangerously, and they should only lane split through stationary traffic and at walking pace. He asked for cash but since she said go through the insurance has dissspeared, fortunatelly the damage polished out of her plastic wheelarches(street Ka).

It looms to me like its cut and dried thatbits the bikers fault, unfortunatelly As usual your insurance companies are doing what's easiest and most profitable for them (you both lose no claims and excess). If the damage is just the wing it looks to me it would push out quite easily though.

Its called filtering. Lane splitting is soooo American.

You don't say which part of the A12, but I rode along the A12 through East London almost every day for 20 plus years. Never, ever seen any rider pulled up by the police for filtering above walking pace and through moving traffic.

I would say in the majority of bike/ car collisions that I have seen, it has been the car driver  at fault in nearly every instance.

Spotted you yesterday afternoon bombing along the A13 near Lakeside!

If they don't understand the rules they would say its the cars fault........

A12 at chelmsford, she was doing around 50, he came through considerably faster, saw same guy a couple of days later doing the same through 70mph traffic, some bikers seem to be going for the Darwin award and ride like they are above the law. (to be fair the vast majority ride pretty sensibly).

Have you ever ridden a motorbike, let alone filtered one through traffic?

"Sorry, mate, I didn't see you"—widely known by the acronym SMIDSY—accounts for up to 25% of all motorcycle collisions, and is responsible for over 70% of driver perception errors in multi-vehicle motorcycle crashes . These crashes most commonly occur at intersections or driveways when a vehicle pulls directly into the rider's path."

I've had that happen many times when running on unmarked bikes with blue lights. I rarely used them unless absolutely necessary, as I often found that without them, I was past the vehicle in front of me before they realised I was there.

Ultimately safer for me, and I wanted to get home every night.

I don't disagree with anytning you say many of them don't even seem to be able to see a black mx5! but thats not what I'm talking about.

but around here there are a minority of bikers usually younger guys on sports bikes who seem to have virtually no idea about hazzard perception or self preservation and seem to come out this way to drive like lunatics, I've even had them lane splitting on one side of me and undertaking on a slip road at the same time, all while I was doing a little over the legal speed limit.

The relative speed they are doing it at,  the size of some modern cars and number of vans  means they will have no time to see or react to the indicators of small cars between them, I believe guidance is they should only filter through stationary or very slow moving traffic.

The "biker" who hit my daughter frankly deserves whatever happens to him, any one (and his mate) who drives like lunatic then pressures a young girl to pay him damages in cash at the scene of the accident, then scarpers at the sight of police deserves whatever comes to them, just feel sorry for the emergency services who have to pick to the pieces.
