chancer Posted January 11, 2024 Author Posted January 11, 2024 Been out and drove around for a bit tonight just to get used to it. First impressions are good. It has the agricultural feel to it that I remember from when I last drove one in 2013. That was a 2011 cab which had covered around 100k miles, this one I picked up today is a 2008 cab which has 400k+ on it. There is very little difference in feel between cabs, i expected this one to feel loose and worn but it just doesnt. The rear passenger compartment is like the day it left the factory. Its clearly had a full refurb recently as the seats, floor and trim are all in unworn condition. Bump seats dont sag, the springs are nice and tight. Drivers seat has lost a fair amount of padding, but thats an easy enough job to tackle. Havent really seen it in daylight, so tomorrow I will have a good look over it and post up some more detailed pics. Will flip the ramp down and photograph it for @LightBulbFun warren t claim, Split_Pin, Jim Bell and 9 others 12

They colourway is called Taxi, the colours are styled on the new york taxi. I wear them any time im out in the cab, and they attract a lot of nice comments from customers. I was doing nights on my fathers cab when he wasnt working. Cost me nothing, but i felt that while it was quiet in January that i was maybe taking hours on his cab that he could be working. Id rather work days anyway so it was a no brainer. This cab is showing something like 289k on the clock. Its on the pic i pisted earlier. However, it came with a full service history, and it has been serviced every 10k since new. It was owned by first owner up until 2020. Service book is stamped until then. Last mileage entered in book was in 2019 at 370k. It had 2 further services stamped in the book stating mileage not shown, so I think the dash display went down. The mileage would have been held in the clocks on this age of cab, so when the next owner took it on, the clocks would have been changed for 2nd hand ones. So, in 2020, the mileage would have been around 390k. Fast forward to now and its possibly around 450k. That allows for lockdown, and the fact the guy previous to me just worked locally. He was semi retired ETA...i didnt specifically set out for a TX, quite the opposite. I much prefer the comfort of the newer van conversions. I swore i would never drive a TX again. But if you look at the post showing where it was in relation to where i live, it became a no brainer. Our low emission zone comes into force on 1st June 2024, so this cabs days are numbered. I will be its last custodian unfortunately Edited January 12, 2024 by chancer warren t claim, AnnoyingPentium and LightBulbFun 3
