Sorry for the late update but a new filter housing fixed my problem. Thanks all   for the help. Running fine now. Also passed it's MOT last week as well.

Got a couple of jobs done this afternoon. After a bulb went and I couldn't get hold of a yellow bulb I've been running one yellow and one white. Back to both yellow for maximum Frenchness.

Next I replaced one of the leak-off pipes. FUBARed after only a few months.

Hopefully the Halfords pipe I've been recommended will last longer. I'm a dab hand at removing the intake fanimold now with all the practise I've been having.

After more problems with the hearse today it was good to give this a wash and go for a run in the sun.

Perfect to hustle along a road like that.

This is a fairly well know video. But worth posting again. Shot near St Paul de Vance in S. of France.

I drove mine Rouen to London during the winter no sweat at the legal limit all the way.

Van was not happy with anything less than half a tank of diesel. Thinking that possibly the fuel pickup pipe might have a crack in it I remove it.

Looks like the pump might have been struggling to draw anything through this.

It's an organic matter that grows in diesel fuel. Boats laid up suffer from it particularly. Also if the van has been run on veg oil in the past. Clean it down and job should be a goodun.

Run the tank right down and replenish with fresh diesel.

There are inhibitor biocides to go in the fuel if it really persists.

I was out and about in mine the last couple of days as well. Went up to Tobermory via Oban  and back via Glen Coe. As long as I kept the fuel level up no problems.

My old visa Super E had metric factory alloys

Finally got round to tightening the aux belt that occasionally squeaks on starting today.

IMG_20250511_150117.jpg.a6391c8fdb503b86fb50cc4b3311fcb0.jpg

It's looking a bit oily, better add cleaning the engine and working out where it's coming from to the jobs list.

Worth getting a spare belt. They do squeak and then fail. Not sure which engine you have but on the earlier ones it's an easy roadside change if it snaps.

I found that out last year in the middle of the French countryside. 😂

Passenger seat free to collect. Also fits the drivers side. Near Ayr.Screenshot_20250429_153732_Gallery.jpg.7f841db4d36341e6f47a898033da2694.jpg

A seat with uncracked vinyl is a rare find!

After having trouble getting a belt in time when one snapped just before the MOT last year I always carry a spare. My engine's a DW8 so I could only change the belt at the roadside if I had a 40 torx bit and a 22mm spanner for the adjuster...

New boots have arrived, I'll get them fitted this weekend.

Got my money's worth out of the old ones - the new ones are probably 10mm greater in diameter - perhaps my speedo will be more accurate now!

Bit further up I think, near Cairn Lodge services. I thought I recognised the two tone!

You were following a new Porsche 911 up the slip road, which spent the next 40 miles failing to hold a steady speed in the middle lane. 🙄

That must have been in the morning heading south. I remember the Porsche as well! I couldn't keep up with it , didn't stop me trying though.
